Elections in Germany’s largest state Bavaria are being seen as a test of where Europe’s largest economy is heading.
Polls show increasing support for the far-right party the Alternative for Germany (AFD).
Traditionally, the party is stronger in the east of the country.
But with migration dominating this election campaign, the anti-immigration party is gaining support in the west as well.

Germany’s CDU, led by Merkel, won. Germans are finally realizing that an experienced Merkel is much better than a novice male chancellor. In second place is the far-right party, which has made great progress due to anger, and in third place is the current ruling party, which continues to fall. Merkel’s leadership is needed at the head of the EU and in various fields.
I don’t care who is in power as long as all current and new Illegal immigrants turning up at the boarders are sent back to where they come from fast. Who ever promises that has my vote. I consider myself left wing and from what I have witnessed the whole thing is a failed experiment. We must help our own struggling people first.
