Wagner mutiny: Putin meets his defence and security officials

President Vladimir Putin has said for the first time that the Wagner mercenary group is fully backed by the state. He said it cost his nation a billion dollars last year. Russia’s president congratulated his forces and hailed their efforts to stop what he called a “civil war”. The head of Wagner, Yevgeny Prigozhin, has landed in the Belarusian capital, Minsk.
