Saudi fighter jet crashes in northern Yemen’s al-Jawf province

A series of air raids in northern Yemen by the Saudi-led coalition has killed at least 31 civilians. The attacks brought a rebuke from the UN humanitarian chief for Yemen, who called it “shocking”. The raids took place after Saudi Arabia confirmed one of its planes had crashed in the same region. Houthi rebels claim to have shot the plane down. Coronavirus: Cruise ship passengers disembark in Cambodia

Passengers from a cruise ship turned away by four countries because of coronavirus fears have finally been allowed off in Cambodia. The ship had been at sea for two weeks, and the 2,000 passengers and crew had been tested to see if they were carrying the virus when it arrived on Wednesday. Yemen’s Houthi rebels release Saudi attack video

Yemen’s Houthi rebels on Sunday broadcast footage they said was of a major attack into Saudi Arabia that killed or wounded 500 soldiers with thousands of others surrendering. Yahya Saree, a Houthi military spokesman, described an ambush on the Saudi forces that then developed into an “all-out” cross-border offensive that trapped the troops inside Saudi Arabia. “More than 200 were killed in dozens of [missile and drone] strikes while trying to escape or surrender,” Saree said. The fighting took place in the southern region of Najran with video images aired showing armoured vehicles hit by blasts and surrendering soldiers. Japan to remove South Korea from favoured trade list

Marawi siege: Philippine army kills two pro-ISIL commanders

Two top Philippine commanders of an armed alliance that have declared loyalty to the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL, also known as ISIS), have been killed, according to authorities, in a major blow to an ongoing armed rebellion in the country’s south.
