War in Yemen: Houthis mark eight years since Saudi invasion

Thousands of Houthi supporters rallied in Yemen’s capital on Sunday to mark the eighth anniversary of the Saudi-led military intervention in the war. Houthi rebels ousted the government from Sanaa in late 2014, following years of instability. As a result of the conflict, the UN says hundreds of thousands of people have been killed, millions internally displaced, and two-thirds of the population are below the poverty line. Yemen’s Houthi rebels have launched a series of attacks on targets in Saudi Arabia. No injuries have been reported but oil storage facilities have been damaged in a barrage of drones and at least one ballistic missile. Saudi Arabia overturns death sentences in Jamal Khashoggi killing

Saudi Arabia has reduced the sentences of eight people involved in the murder of journalist Jamal Khashoggi in Turkey. Last year, five of them were given the death penalty for the killing, but that has been overturned. The court handed 20-year sentences to five people and three others were sentenced to between seven to 10 years, state media reported. The eight convicted were not identified.
