Iran nuclear programme: UN watchdog chief holds talks

The head of the UN nuclear watchdog has returned from talks in Tehran with an agreement that nuclear inspectors will be allowed to service monitoring equipment in Iran’s nuclear sites. Iran says the International Atomic Energy Agency’s officials will be allowed to replace the memory cards in recording cameras that will be kept in Iran It is the first such meeting since President Ebrahim Raisi took office and talks in Vienna are expected to continue later this month. Russia, Iran sign cooperation agreement days after Natanz attack

Iran completes satellite-carrying rocket test launch

0 Iran state TV has aired the test launch of a satellite-carrying rocket, which it said was able to reach a height of 500 kilometres (310 miles). A defence ministry spokesman said Zuljanah will be able to place operational satellites into orbit as US President Joe Biden considers reviving the 2015 nuclear accord. Top Iranian nuclear scientist assassinated near Tehran

Iran’s president has accused Israel of assassinating its prominent nuclear scientist. Hassan Rouhani says the killing of Mohsen Fakhrizadeh will not slow down Tehran’s nuclear programme. Gunmen ambushed a vehicle carrying him and his bodyguards, near the capital on Friday. Iran has promised retaliation, for what the president calls an act of despair by the enemy.
