@wowzer exactly, I hate that people think it’s such an easy choice. I actually fish for my fish and hunt my meat mostly. I am native and was raised that way but, not everyone can do that. And being vegan or vegetarian isnt always easy or preferred.

That poor man – glad he survived. Tragically, he’s the only survivor, as of now, with 40+ others still missing – I believe one other person was also found, but they have since died in hospital. Sorry for the families, and best wishes to him…

I think they already found 3. One was already unconscious when found and eventually died. I think the 2 still survived.

You would think that there would be more people on that raft. I mean one guy got to that big raft to be the only one in it? there were 40 something people on that ship.
During emergencies. Life rafts are usually dump in water first then the crews jump on water. Imagine doing that in the middle of the night on a storm.
with strong winds, heavy rain, tall waves, and no vision im surprised he was able to get in the raft.

My prayers to all filipino crew and 2 from New Zealand that haven’t been found yet. It’s a tough job. I went to sail with my husband a 2nd officer before in a chemical tanker twice delivering chemicals from Galveston to Mexico. The tanker encountered rough seas and I was so scared. Now for 20 years he is a frontliner like me here in the US. Prayers to all filipino seafarers out there and to all seafarers of the world.
