@Simply Annie there are a few issues within your single question. Firstly, the Talibans certainly have the legitimacy to rule their own land/people, not US. How they choose to rule is none of our business. Secondly, Talibans were harsh when they were in control 20 years ago but US couldn’t make things better in 20 years either. Thirdly, Talibans currently prove themselves better as rulers than 20 years ago so I think they have learned their lesson well. Finally, the Talibans made clear their vision of ruling based on Sharia laws and closely model after Iran’s system. If this is the plan, I see a bright future for Afghanistan.

And yes, the US didn’t make anything better in Afghanistan, and they didn’t even deserve to be there, but I’m just hoping the Talibans truly have changed and not pretending so as to unlock the billions that have been Frozen. You see this could be a 2 way, they can be good or bad but I guess only time can tell but all I’d want to see is a better and a free place for afghans to live in, at the end of the day they matter the most.
