Human rights groups are accusing Myanmar’s military of committing a mass killing against civilians as they intensify an offensive against rebel forces in Kayah state.
The Save the Children charity says two staff members were caught up in the violence and are missing.
The violence follows a week of government bombing and artillery fire that has forced thousands of people from their homes.
But there is fierce resistance from local ethnic groups.

They locked Rohingya in house and burned them alive. When a woman tried to escape, they snatched her baby from her arms and threw him in fire 🔥 then they r*p*d the woman then cut her throat and left her for dead.
Miraculously, she regained consciousness a few hours later and then fled to Bangladesh.
They hunted down women, children and elderly people who were fleeing and hacked them with knives/machetes.
They did not even allow them to leave without stabbing and torturing them first.

The military wanted them out and launched strategically planned disinformation campaigns on Facebook accusing Rohingya people of being terrorists, branding them as illegal immigrants from Bangladesh, followed by a brutal military crackdown on Rohingya villages. Facebook has admitted it didn’t do more to stem a torrents of racist posts over the years that followed.

This is what happened before: An arrest warrant was issued for that speech in May 2019 on grounds of sedition and slander. After a year and a half of evading arrest, he surrendered to the police in Yangon a week before the 2020 Myanmar general election, and got arrested. In September 2021, the sedition charges against Wirathu were dismissed by the military junta, and he was subsequently released.

Myanmar has more than 130 ethnic minorities and nearly 20 independent armed forces. Many troops disobeyed the central government and demanded autonomy. These civil wars lasted 50 years. Until the recent coup made the situation worse.
In the past, they lived by selling opium. Now they sell jade and rare earth to China.
Also note that China kind off supports some of the armed groups like AA and Wa state.
