The standoff between Russia and Ukraine has Europeans worried about gas supplies.
A third of Europe’s natural gas comes from Russia.
And if there is a war – Europe would have to turn to other providers.
EU leaders have been clear that a Russian act of aggression against Ukraine would have dire consequences for President Putin and his country.
It would mean an end to his hopes of bringing the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline on time, depriving him of tens of billions of dollars in revenue and depriving the EU of hundreds of billions of cubic metres of Russian gas.

If war breaks out in Ukraine, it will impact entire Europe. Russia will blockade LNG ships and many Europeans will die. All is fair in love and war.
The view here is wrong. Germany wants the West to negotiate with Russia to achieve an agreement and avoid a war. Therefore they thought they should put NS2 in the basket of western sanctions to have some incentive for Russia to come to a peaceful solution but this was totally naive. Now there are the hawks in the US and Ukraine who always wanted NS2 to be axed. US and Ukraine will not negotiate in good faith with Russia. Expect some false flag attacks by the US or Ukrainians to get the sanctions started and to put pressure on Germany to axe NS2.
This from Qatar who wished to pipe gas through Syria into EU & then started a civil war by sending al-Qaeda in backed by NATO troops, because Qatar didn’t get their way… This is like Hitler saying Poland invited him to invade. Next up, Iran may be in trouble with NATO🙄🙄🙄.

Gas supply in Qatar belongs to Exxon.
Qatar and the US have dreamt about providing Qatar gas by pipeline to europe. They only miscalculated that the pipeline needs to pass over Syria, and the Syria government said no. That is why gulf countries, the US and Europe invested heavily in Syrian rebel groups that wanted to topple the Syrian government and were inactive against IS which nearly reached Damascus. Only with the help of Russia they could drive the terrorost groups back and survived….
Does it necessarily to pass through Syria and not other countries? If what you said is true, Qatar could use another route to channel the gas.

The EU never listened to warnings they will be too dependend on Russian gas. Now we are in trouble because Germany was stuborn on the North Stream 2 pipeline. We should have diversified much earlier. The same will happen with the transition towards durable energy. They (greens/left) wants to switch off all nuclear, gas and coal energy plants and switch to electric cars at the same time without having a good plan how to do that. Its just plain stupid and we will have both sky high energy prices and unrealiable power supply.
The response of Europe to keep North Stream 2 closed if Putin invades Ukraine is so naive. As if that will solve our problem we rely on Russian gas as the EU Commission fails to implement a decent energy policy to secure supply and affordable energy prices. The EU is a joke.

Some permitted nuclear weapons to be placed within their borders aimed at Russia. Recently a democratically elected, pro-Russian government was decapitated by an insurrection aided by the CIA. All Putin is demanding is that Ukraine not be allowed to join NATO. The US calls this non-negotiable. Are we willing to risk nuclear war for that?
