Afghanistan’s diplomat at the UN: No staff, no budget, no paycheque

The Taliban may control Afghanistan but the de facto government has yet to be formally recognised by the United Nations.
An Afghan diplomat who worked under the prior government has remained at the UN.
He is hanging on to his job and the hope of negotiating a more inclusive government.
The Taliban has named its own representative to the UN, but thus far, the credentialing committee has refused to consider the appointment.
Al Jazeera’s Kristen Saloomey reports from the UN Headquarters in New York.
