Thousands marched on the streets of the Argentine capital to protest against a loan repayment deal with the IMF, fearing the economic fallout on their lives.
They say the record $57 billion loan should be ignored.
But that would risk isolating the country from international financial markets.

Misery and hardship will continue to doomsday. Latin America has been ruined since the hardworking abd caring Spaniards and Portuguese set foot in it.
Spaniard and Portuguese are our culture. Argentina is also addicted to debt the country that defaults the most in the world.
@507 Performanceonly if you are Iberian. And don’t forget the moorish culture to add to your belt.
The IMF is another algorithm written by Foghorn Leghorn.
@chuck leo racist? Im not the one who said wretched islam. U smokingg…

@Technjx keep talking like an old man with Alzheimer’s here. Good for you. The more you practice, the more you will improve your brain function. Never give up…. You showed your vulgar racism mind because you don’t even understand my comments but throw your biased view about Chinese to me who rarely used TikTok, or even not Wumao or atheist. Silly you. Your intelligence and understanding capability are so poor… but can you go away from my comments that you don’t understand? It is sort of disguising and unpleasant to talk to people like you who have racism mind and poor IQ.
@chuck leo no wonder how much u blantlantly put an excuse to urself, your racist comment has been witnessed. Even u edited it or not u pathetic fool

Ohhhh so it’s the WEST that create debt trap not China? Who would have thought??
IMF debt trap
Just like the 🇨🇳 one
@khin0112 yes the master
Just dont take it anymore, easy.
The IMF gave 50 000 million dollars to Argentina. What did the Argentinians do with all that money? Politicians stole a lot of money, thousands of millions of dollars, in various corruption schemes that are well known to the argentinians. The rest of the money was distributed by those same politicians in populist campaigns, giving free food and even salaries to strikers (aka people that didn’t want to work)
No real investment was ever done.
They ate the whole thing up at once.
I won’t blame the IMF for that.
imf debt trap
Why take it so?
Mismanagement by the govt is to be blamed too.
True👍
IMF hegemony is tied with US Dollar, it won’t last forever, and it doesn’t have the same impact as 20 years ago.

Imagine if there weren’t an IMF. Even loan-sharks wouldn’t be lending to Argentina.
But the Bible says that in the end of days, if a God ever told a lie, that is also called a demon…
@E.J. Wyllie I cannot find any such verse in the Bible. It simply says in several verses that God does not lie as He is not a man, but that men lie.
I really do hope that their govt will use that money to finance reforms…otherwise another default is developing
They call China debt Trap – Real scoundrels’ are in IMF
ImF debt trapped Argentina
@Lucas mate installed western puppet
Not a problem. Argentina just signed a Belt & Road deal with China for several billion dollars. Let’s meet back in a year and see how the Chinese loans are working out.
@Ralph Emerson They Will blame everybody but themselves.
Argentina indebted itself.
Argentina doesn’t know how to run its economy. They sought the loan and brought this upon themselves.
Pakistan bikhari nation

Argentina is beautiful amazing country but always have problems with government! From the 2 – world war until now Argentina always going wrong direction!
Mismanagement of the economy my friend.

Your faith in the banking system is unreal.
Corruption.
Bitcoin, bitcoin, bitcoin.

I wish this was Kenya….Our govt takes up millions of dollars in debts without any accountability…
Welcome to the Western debt trap.
next time don´t vote for politicians that indebt you…
IMF is one the institutions to gain leverage over nations in order to make them do what superpower and great powers compels (mostly dirty games) them to do.
I’ve no idea what nations are supposed to do when they go bankrupt. It’s not like Argentina can’t pay back $57 billion, it’s more like they don’t want to.
@Matt Gummerson but like uk we print money ad infinitum with zero consequences.
We control the mechanisms that decide to crush a country.
The USA has 30 trillion debt which of course owed by the public.
The system is privatise all profit and nationalise all debt we the uk are experts at it.
Brexit was for the 1% to carry on enjoying the benefits of the likes of the cayman islands whilst impoverishing the whole nation.
In UK we bailed out banks to the tune of 850 billion.
Not on penny trickled down.
You still have blind faith….. I see it for what it really is.
@Tau ceti I’d didn’t in uk when 850billion was printed and given to the banks where it promptly disappeared without a trace. No inflation. Similarly the USA.
I took economics those rules don’t exist any more.
@simon clarke you criticise the US and US systems but they’re 2 of the best performing and accessible financial systems in the world. Bailing out the UK banks was a one off necessity to protect the country, it’s not just the west that does this. Look at China with Evergrande
@Matt Gummerson it’s part of the industrial military complex and war is democratically unstoppable and fully media backed every single time. It generates much for the one percent and little else.
Our betrayal of treaties and faux concerns of human rights usual precursor to an intervention.
@Tau ceti yes we are currently experiencing the highest inflation since the 1980s
Argentina is one of those countries that each time has to choose, they pic the worst outcome
And what’s is that debt slave to the American bankers
pay ,you freeloaders
Comunist is killed .
Your leader is at fault, bagging all your money thats it
Central banks are always americas way of controlling and overturning legitimate governments that would look after its citizens.
Many coups and arming insurgents follow if a country tries to retain any social values.
America the worlds terrorists but not terror just freedom bombs.
There is no solution when you bankrupt
US dollars will kill the people of most country in the world…
Your president, after attending the winter Olympic, is supposed to bring back money, is it?
US dollar is not a currency it’s a debt
? What
@KDH2130 debt trap
I have seen a lot of idiots in this comment section but you sir are the king of them all!
IMF making country slave.
Pierre Poilievre for PM! Go Canada 🇨🇦
We need a leader 🇨🇦
Y’all need a mathematician… not a leader..
The IMF is evil.
Debt trap by the US …
Economic Hitmen
Any nation dealing with the IMF, world bank and other shady multilaterals is officially dealing with fraudsters and human slavers.
Viva Argentina.
Repeat after me: Serial defaulters need to be forced to not have debt. A bit of pain, but remain debt free.
Kuku DMD
Well, if you can’t pay back, then maybe don’t borrow…
@simon clarke Do you think that there is a basis to compare the USA and Argentina? 33% of global reserves are in USD, so USA printing money will have far less impact on USA society than Argentina doing the same. In my country there is a saying “What the governor can do, you stinky peasants can’t do” (in a loose translation). Also, there is another thing – borrowing money. If a rich man borrows a million for whatever he wants to do with it, banks will have no problem with giving him loans because they know he will pay it back. If a poor person borrows 10 000 for consumption, it will be a different case. It would be irresponsible to lend this person money, because they can’t pay it back. Especially since it doesn’t go for investment but for consumption goods. The IMF is not a charity to help the poor, it was created to give loans, not donations.
@Magdalena Os but the whole system is rigged to work one way, and will go to war if a socialist government gets into power, the cia are sent in.
In UK petrochemical companies are being supported so much, one has not paid tax which as a rate was. Minus 51% while us peasants suffer.
The American debt is still growing
If they don’t borrow they will die of starvation
@Saint Pinewood Argentina? Argentina produce and export tons of food, starvation should not be their problem.
@Saint Pinewood Self-inflicted inflation are causing those issues in the first place.
Economic Hitman….
The Argentinian government is a joke. It has been a joke for decades
Translate a book of basic macroeconomics into spanish. All problems will go.
0:50 22nd agreement! Is IMF really that charitable or they have something to gain from this???
All the natural and mineral resources of Argentina will become collateral for these loans and will be property of IMF when Argentina defaults.
so what did they do with the money?
IMF, WB, Federal Reserve, Central banks, commercial banks are one and same entity – enslaving mankind with their cruel usury system.

Yes but do you know I have been paid out today
You Argentinian saps will be begging for IMF help after China steals all your resources and and abuses your workforce. Never borrow money from China.
IMF loans are the real debt trap. No doubt about that.
“In Argentina, 55% of all registered workers are employed by government” – no Argentinian sees a problem here?
The same way Greeks never saw a problem with this.
Everyone sees a problem in this, even the public workers. Not much to do when the majority keeps voting the socialists
@Serge London in Greece was not 55% though
@TheSoundInYourHead I never quoted an exact figure? I was only referring to the Greeks having a sizeable amount of people employed in the public sector as well.
Good then people would end up taking loan from China for higher interest rates.
What Argentina needs is to fix its economy is by firing all the unnecessary government workers, but that would be political suicide due to just how many government paid workers there are.
They need to embrace their free market and lower taxes, but the taxes are they only thing keeping the people alive at the moment through gov aid programs like food stamps.
and reforming unions and lowering the deficit
The IMF never learn with Argentina… Lol…
Oh Argentina! You borrow all you can get then you cry default. Don’t cry for me Argentina says the IMF
22nd loan agreement with IMF??
That’s quite an achievement.
In other to solve this problem everyone has to be fully vaccinated.
javier milei presidente.
IMF is the creator of Debt Trap but accuses China. No US puppet govt is clean, thats why the US funds coup all over the world to install corrupted govt that kills its own country. This govt has inherited a mess left behind.
This is the real debt trap
I think Ferdandez will get some money from China…
Sometimes I think inflation is made for the purpose to weaken people, to prevent them from collecting financial resources and become stronger than the governments and corporate sector. Because in the end the money is nothing, the real assets and property are important. They don’t want to allow the majority of people to exchange the paper for the profitable assets. So inflation exists and it will always be like that. In addition we have the situation when the certain currencies are considered as “real” and “strong” while others are not, though there is no reason for this perversion except the domination and parasitism of the particular economies over others.
THEY HAVE TO PAIDDDDDD
They don’t want to paid
Belt and road > IMF debt trap
IMF is a real debt trap. Wake up world.
Imf is not fair to developing countries
From Malaysia. IMF is an example of real debt trap. When George Soros and USA attacked our economy in 1998, we refuse to accept IMF bail out, but instead freezed capital outflow and fixed our exchange rate to 3.8 for few years until our economy recovered.
Dude, you are not gonna mention how argentina itself is the problem? What would you do if someone burrows from malaysia and they decide not to pay you? If the IMF will not finance argentina, then they would collapse sooner since not even China will lend them
Pakistan: Not one protester in Islamabad against IMF debt deal, why Pakistan government can’t reduce its operating expenses or impose minimum 25% income tax on agriculture income and wealth tax.
Strange that China is invited for a nuclear plant while there are so many problems in Argentina !
Sadly argentina looks like a great country….Elon or Jeff will probably buy argentina.
I dont think this is a stupid idea – tweet it to Elon. BA has all the elements to be a rocking place just needs a better leader.
The IMF is a debt trap organisation.
just like what we expect… After argentina take side to china…. There will a protests to be expected. Soon. It will turn to regime change lol
LETS GO BRANDON!
Argentina leader is doing business with the Devil. Chi=communist. Enough said
IMF is a terrible bank, it gives loans to useless govts across the world, let em go bankrupt, don’t keep em in a limbo debt survival state, this way the govts will be forced to suffer the consequences of their own policies, END THESE CENTRAL BANKS!
Work your asx up and pay your taxes and put your brains to build industry that will earn export revenue
Learn from El Salvador and free your country
The scales and the righteous scarves belong to Yahweh,
all the weights in the sack are his work.
Do argentinians even recognize that even no matter how collectivist you are, you still need to pay your debts? Put yourself in their shoes, if you lend money to help someone, and they decide not to pay you, how would deal with that?
If I were Britain, I would force a sale of The Falklands.
@Fahad Shah force sale would only legitimise their ownership on it
@Alexis Vladimir Ortega Not for long 😉
IMF is sweet poison for all country…. If we will think with power then we can understand…. IMF… is for New World Order…. We are paying more tax…. Why… Because IMF is controlling to world….
If we want freedom…. So we should make sound against…. IMF…..
F*ck the IMF. Enough of strangling developing countries and over burdening them with debt.
the economy is globalized.
IMF Debt Trap. Just ask Soeharto of Indonesia.
IMF gave Indonesia a debt and ask Indonesia to change their laws to fulfill US companies Interest. What a Debt Trap.
If it was China, it would have been called debt trap…
God help 🇦🇷Argentina
When USA is your friend you don’t need enemy.
after IMF now another monster loan with china this is so sad
And who is controlling the IMF?
The result of electing idiot politicians whose charisma is greater than their intelligence.
This is a obvious lesson – Don’t take a loan you can’t pay back.
Argentina will either get a better deal from Russia or China or both to switch their trade from Dollars to Rubles / Yuan. Thank the greedy policies of the IMF and Hello to the
New World Order of BRICS brought to public from West.
Radicals leftist…
They must get in touch with Chicago brothers who helped Chile from sort of same Argentinas condition which is in 150 billion dollars negative to 20 billion dollars plus economy
The problem is the currency has dropped so much in value. So it’s like they are paying 10X more – 1000% interest rate.
Same problems in Pakistan.
Go Argentina! Stop putting up with this authoritarian rule!
Wouldn’t $50 billion be enough to turn around any economy from a zero to a 100% prosperity of its people that translates into increased purchasing power which in turn earn the government multiple value added tax to pay back those debts? Or is it some waste system that gulped those billions into pockets of the politicians?
Bankers cause all wars an get millions killed to keep profits high. The people behind the banks should know what it is like to get the same treatment right now. There families should be removed from positions that allow them to do this.
Here we have a real life example of “debt trap”, we all know who controls |*F, yes that empire that calls itself “land of the free”…too bad this is just one of many countries across the global south that is chained to this trap thus they have to keep quiet whenever that empire does something unjust and immoral to other countries
And we suppose to take them seriously when they point fingers at a country that starts with “C” for allegedly doing the same thing?!
We can expect various agencies of that empire, including C * A / N E D , their corporate MSM are already ordinating their efforts to stabilise and possibly overthrow that gvnt if they don’t get in line with the agenda of the empire
No por nacer en nuestro territorio significa que son Argentinos esos son unos vende patrias
Argentina is a country of fiscal degenerates.
