I think what you said makes perfect rational sense, in many ways it is the most logical course of action except that people are not perfectly rational beings, that is to say that in surrendering Zelenskyy would break Ukraine’s “spirit” and as frivolous as that may seem at a surface level, there is something to be said about human dignity — even though that too may be frivolous in the event of a thermonuclear war that will most certainly not only encompass the European region but the rest of the world, whether that be directly or indirectly.
