The defence chiefs of the US and China have met for the first time, as tensions between the two countries continue to rise.
The Chinese Minister of Defence General Wei Fenghe says the discussions went smoothly.
Defense leaders from around the Asia-Pacific are in Singapore this week to debate the pressing security issues facing the region.

Honestly, where would China be today if it weren’t for the United States? Would most Chinese people be speaking Japanese or would China have become one big North Korea? The CCP would do well to remember which country saved China from Imperial Japan and welcomed China into the new global world order after 30 years of the disasterous Mao-era. If Beijing was being honest, it would acknowledge the United States has contributed much more to safeguarding the territorial integrity of China, saved more Chinese lives, preserved more Chinese culture, and raise the standard of living of more Chinese people than the PLA and the CCP.
