Build back better or whatever competing project that has been re-marketed by America is a non-starter. The reason why China is building around the world is because they invested so much into building internal infrastructure that they have excess construction capability which can be deployed with high efficiency per unit of capital spent. The United States has almost completely de-industrialized at this point and has shed the majority of their infrastructure building capability and expertise. For every dollar spent on this project, China can return the equivalent of 10X or more production, not to mention at a high level of quality due to the years and money that China has invested in expertise and refinement over the years.

I think that you are very wrong about that.
China will not initiate a war over Taiwan because time is otherwise on China’s side in terms of eventually gaining political control over Taiwan. Without outside interference, economic factors would eventually force China and Taiwan into a political union.
However the United States is actively promoting Taiwanese independence with inflammatory rhetoric and provocative behavior. That is a major security threat to China which it cannot tolerate.
The Communists decisively defeated the Kuomintang in the Chinese Civil War in 1949 and have always claimed sovereignty over Taiwan. It was the US Navy Seventh Fleet that prevented Mao from conquering Taiwan in 1950. Without active protection from the US, an independent Taiwan cannot stand. With an increasingly “woke” / broke US Navy, US protection of Taiwan is,becoming unsustainable.
If Taiwan declares independence, or behaves as if it were independent, or hosts foreign troops on its soil or acquires nuclear weapons, China WILL attack. The Biden administration is recklessly doing just that.

Free trade with China was a strategic mistake from the very beginning. All we did was make the authoritarian govt. stronger, and push jobs away from the US and went over seas, primarily to China. We need to unwind that mistake, because it is clear to everyone that China is using this wealth to build a military the will threaten Taiwan, Japan and South Korea.

I do not consider that the US strategy of applying pressure on China has not worked, maybe the pressure is not easy to be assessed by a third party country or the US itself. I believe that no doubt the pressure is felt by China.

If you get a good impression from that first meeting, you are more likely to score runs in later dates. However, it you are to come out puffing your chest, trying to put some runs on the scoreboard by talking tough, then I am afraid that you won;t go far in ANY negotiation.
If my memory serves me right, in the very first meeting which took place in Alaska between Biden’s side and China, after a long pause due to COVID, the security advisor Jake Sullivan came out firing and puffing his chest. He was quoted to have said “…We are speaking from a position of strength..”. Anyone with any real world experience with human interactions would know that it is not the done thing. To start with, it is very rude. Secondly, Sullivan doesn’t know that he is actually speaking from such a position. Thirdly, he poisoned the water. China retorted accordingly, packed up and left with still two more scheduled days left.

But don’t cheer too loudly because Trump just might even get a second chance. Yes, he is in a lot of bothers at the moment, but that is exactly what makes him attractive to 48% of Americans…he is the opposite of being correct.

It’s interesting to hear these intellectuals talking about the downfall of America and China basically taking over. I found it interesting that China can grow at 10 percent yearly and has not experienced one recession since its modern build-up in 2000. For the past 22 years, it has grown non-stop without one significant slowdown. That basically means two things, either china rulers are the most intelligent financial experts the human race has seen, or they are cooking the books. I would bet on the latter option. The issue is china can not let its economy into recession because the people will rise up and revolt. That said, it’s only a matter of time before the whole thing spills over. The main issue they will run into soon is a shortage of food. Also, no one will buy their goods if the US and Europe enter a recession this year or the next. Whether or not on the tariffs issue, China has entered into new sales destinations and existing overseas markets have increased purchases of Chinese products and services in the last 6 months. The US have increased their Chinese purchases by 11% in the last 6 months. And China has just REDUCED container shipment costs from $13000 down to $7000. Its going to be busy for China this year. Cell phone sales are a downturn globally atm, which put less stress for China for competitive sourcing . Biden is losing the competition.
