A woman who worked across from the Nevada children’s museum noticed lights on late at night and thought it was “weird.” Local authorities discovered a couple was found living there with their two children and a cache of weapons. KRNV’s Zac Slotemaker reports.

This is like the plot for a bad Netflix movie. 😂
The young lady interviewed said the place “creeps her out.” Why? The family has been removed from the facility. This sort of thing happens more often than people believe. Now, the museum will have more checks and balances in place to ensure that no one is living in the museum.
These new people creep me out
@AaaaNinja Checks and balances will resolve the issue. Of course, there was movement inside the museum after hours if the family had taken residence there. With underage children, I am sure it was difficult to not go in and out. Which is why it was unlocked.
there’s a lot more that goes on at places like these, squatters, meth heads, homeless
Side Note: Anyone else a little concerned about this young lady given so much private information about herself during this interview???
So much happening in the world, we just have to be cautious.
Just saying…
I agree 💯
@Sophia Thank you Sophia. I didn’t think I could be the only person feeling that way. We have to be so careful these days. Blessings.
@Heart Strings You are absolutely right. Keep your business to yourself. I wouldn’t even have let them film my face. 🙏🏿
Last fight https://youtu.be/7Gf6-IgljyE
Bongs should be outlawed.
I’m sure they r radical left 🤦🏻♀️🤣🇺🇸⛪️
Good job, Karen!
…. so, you work right across the street?
Good to know. Nevadans can rest safe tonight.
That sound fun living in a museum with guns and weed, that’s like a dream
Weed is legal here. That’s all I’m gonna say.
Omg wow
We’re they Vaccinated?
Night at the museum …
Guns and drugs around children.👎🏾👎🏾👎🏾👎🏾👎🏾👎🏾👎🏾👎🏾👎🏾
Well she’s a snitch. Sounds like falling into hard times and she needs to just mind her own business
“ cache of weapons “ — one rifle and one handgun ,,
I think this lady is missing the big picture… the museum itself is the one that (likely) terminated Calhoun, and the now-former manager is the one that allowed him and his family to stay/be on-site at night…
Now both the manager and Calhoun are gone, so why effectively hold a pre-grudge against the ~future manager~ and *all other staff* that surely benefits from the referrals from local hotels to visit the museum?
Technically it’s not the end of the world if she just refrains from mentioning the museum, but if she specifically advices guests to avoid the museum then that’s petty and spiteful for absolutely no reason as again, the problematic individual and the now-former manager are gone and/or removed from the museum
I wonder what other locations in town that have ever had an issue in the past gets the referral snub from her…
I guess she’s working at a hotel for a reason
She’s like a young Gladys Kravitz. Get some friends or a hobby, girl.
She’s a snitch….snitches get stiches
Wow! Yeeeks. The weapons part sounds scary.
All he had to do was keep it quiet after hours. Had it made.Who wouldn’t wanna live in a museum.
I feel bad for that now unemployed and homeless family.
That is totally the fault of the parents… guns & drugs… there is a reason why they are homeless…
@Trains Planes and Other Things Oh no, not weed!! As if it literally isn’t legal there
It gives you the creeps but you work on that area lmao stfu
😢 obviously homeless…but why the bomb 💣
Bong*
The museum knew they were living there…
First I was like okay some folks found a unique place to sleep and then I heard about the cache of weapons and was like WTF.
“….Three suppressors and a bong” lmao I thought he said bomb
That’s crazy.
Sounds like meth to me!
I don’t understand what they didn’t wrong. They were permitted to live there and they had some riffles and a bong. So where did they brake the law?
I don’t see a problem our manufacturing was let go 40 years on and a few people at the top now own everything , we are officially a 3rd world country who can’t even provide baby formula to ourselves ,,,I’m for whatever they need to do ,,,let em go ,,,,since all that’s left is crappy service jobs drug dealing has been big business last 30 years ,,,the middle is our country is gutted anyway
Marijuana is legal in Nevada. Living in a museum is not.
Creepy!
👀👀👀
As a Republican and proud NRA member, I ask:
What, no grenades?
🤯
A little confusing. Were the couple managing the place as well as being the janitors? Were they not supposed to be there (locked space/unlocked space?
Maybe they couldn’t afford rent
So this girl Works at the hotel across the street and gets out at 11 wow!
Someone should tell her marijuana has been legalized in Nevada!!!!
Nights at the museum
Spend all your money on guns. No money left for basic necessities.
Very smart.
Must be trump supporters.
No one said they didnt have basic neccesities like food and running water.
Okay… here is a opportunity to make a example….all his weapons AND RIGHT to any future weapons should be found void by a court of law FOR LIFE… anything else is not going to work
For breaking what law, exactly?
Trespassing?
Dang she know alot. Low key she can do the whole 60 Minutes report on them.
So you can’t afford rent, but can get guns & ammo? Stupid.
Sheezuz!
Sad the museum did not pay enough for them to live some where.
Yep, let’s outlaw abortion, and let everyone have guns! Welcome to the Twilight Zone…
So apart from squatting the place in these hard times, did they actually hurt or mistreat anyone? I mean apart from Ms. Tushimoto putting her nose into others’ affairs, and acting afraid on camera, despite the fact that nobody threatened her , or cost her anything, how can she seem so comfortable and casual about destroying a struggling family’s lives? Does she not realize that her nosiness just trashed those folks’ futures? So they had a small stash of some firearms, so what? Were they using them for nefarious purposes? Or were they just there for the defense of themselves and their children? Doesn’t matter now, because thanks to Ms. Tushimoto, all of their lives are basically over. *golf-clap*
Omg crazy. How do you have the money for guns and drugs but no money for housing?
How are you so dense to assume that they spent the money on guns when they had no house?
Common sense dictates the assumption they probably already owned them.
My credit is bad. Where am I supposed to live? This is the problem. Housing is based on that stupid credit score not on renter’s affordability and hard work. I’ve seen people with kids staying in cars and shelters and once under the bridge.
Employers also use a credit check system. It’s one of those saying: Pull yourself up by your bootstraps, stop looking for a handout, stop throwing the bad credit card around, stop blaming other for something that happened to you years ago, etc.
Maybe they were using those gun to protect the building or maybe even. Stop something like the uvaldes texas school shooting from happening!
That would have been fun as a kid. I understand why it is a BAD idea, but I would have enjoyed it as a kid/
other Not SO Great countries in the world are able to build sufficient Affordable Housing for their people, yet this self proclaimed Greatest country in the world dont know hoe to solve this sh*t… such a sh*thole…
OMG, this story is hilarious!!!
Cause the requirements for renting a house are worse then buying one, and the rents are astronomically high.
Did he say a bomb or a bong? And why does he sound like a computer generated voice??
Crime committed ???????????
Existing in a white neighborhood
Wow
They have a museum manager/ janitor (?!) position that pays so little that the person holding what should have been one of the most prestigious positions in the museum can’t afford to rent a home for his family? The museum board should be ashamed of themselves.
There is a huge housing crisis in Carson City and the surrounding areas. If you need to take a bus somewhere thats pretty limited too so you just can’t commute easily.
That girl needs to do something with her life, she looks like the neighbor’s person that looks out her window every 5 minutes
I have those 🥺
@I’d rather not say WoW not good!
When I see them looking out the window it creeps me out
What a narc
It was just a family trying to survive the falling America young people these days be to entitled with everyone and everything before you know it more people like her gonna be on the raise to snitch on people I don’t live in Nevada never did but the increase on rent is totally unacceptable to the hard working people who isn’t getting a raise or more money to compete with those rent increases we live in tough times America slowly falling apart due to pure greed from the ones in charge.
This chick is a rat 🐀 now those kids were really have problems they have nowhere to sleep😢😢😢😢😢
07.12.2022
Wow … just when I think I’ve heard it all. 🤣👊
night at the museum irl
Had that been anyone “else” The community would have done more to see that this family received proper resources to help them and the museum would’ve been at the forefront of that effort- but because of their implicit bias, that won’t happen…guns/drugs be damned.
Honestly, what would summer be without the ‘Pap, Pap, Pap, sounds of an Active and most certainly, Mass shooter? Where to next?🍿🥤
Why do people list guns like people aren’t allowed to have them. These are legal items. Listing them to make them seem dangerous is incriminating to me.
The same reason they don’t tell you the description of a perpetrator that murdered four people while robbing them. They want to manipulate the story to their agendas.
It reminds me of (a sordid version) of a Scholastic children’s book I read in the 70’s. I think it was later made into a movie, about a sister, and her younger brother, living in a NY city museum (Metropolitan Museum of Art, maybe?) Surprised it doesn’t happen more often, I guess decently dedicated security usually nips it in the bud.
A great book, a kids’ classic. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/From_the_Mixed-Up_Files_of_Mrs._Basil_E._Frankweiler
Sharks machines Utah
Most people believe American is the greatest country in the world
They were homeless like many others in America. I can show you a lot of these homeless in America videos..

“Supposably.” Lord help us.
She gets the creep out vibes 1:17
Anyone has to admit that it must’ve been fun for the kids.
I fear for this girl’s safety. She gave out too much about herself. She’s nuts and a whole Karen but ugh she’s gonna be a dead one.
If this was just a story of a family needing assistance. It would be different.
Still the rule is not to poop at the same spot you eat. Peoples don’t understand that and causing them to put themselves in a bad situation.
Literally “Night at the Museum”
11pm across from kids museum k gotcha
Of course let’s all just skip over the fact they were living there out of necessity, they got arrested and now their kids are going to be place in foster care where strangers will get paid for taking them in, but actually trying to help them didn’t cross anyone mind.
So strange 🥺
Wilbert Calhoun sounds exactly like the name of someone who’d stockpile drugs and weapons in a children’s museum.
hold on Karen..
So not only do we know where she lives. We know where she works and what time she gets off. How dense.
As someone who has a vintage Time magazine collection, I always hate hearing about the police confiscating people’s magazines.
I had to live in my camper van while making 100,000 a year in the same area because there isn’t much for housing and its pricey. I am sure that is why they were having to stay there. Weed and guns are legal in Nevada but I don’t think that was the best place to store them. I actually feel real bad for this family. They already had it bad trying to live in Carson City and now they are homeless and jobless. Hopefully they get help.
wtf
Wow all those guns kept in a CHILDRENS museum. And drugs… like come on. Wtf.
All of those weapons and ammunition AND a bong. Just down on their luck. Sure.
Haha “supposebly”
Meh. Seems like an overreaction. Guns are legal in the states. Pot? 🤷♀️ It’s not like they were dealing. Kid wandered? No one is perfect. Not worth firing anyone over IMHO.
I’m confused, were they allowed to live there? Like an on site manger?
Who really cares weapons are not bad
This lady is a snow flake
Hey Baby
Why didnt he pawn the guns and get an apartment?
Why is this so hard for me
