As COVID-19 measures are eased in China, life in major cities is starting to return to normal after the sudden easing of restrictions triggered a surge in coronavirus infections in recent weeks.
The lifting of curbs after November’s widespread protests has overwhelmed hospitals and funeral homes, with public concern fuelled by scenes of people on intravenous drips by the roadside and queues of hearses outside crematoria.

China is a very selfish country. The zero covid policy only cares for its own people, no matter what. Here’s why.
When covid virus started, the world suffers. More than 900,000 Americans died of covid. What did China do? It close the borders and lockdown the people. About 5000 Chinese died of covid. This action by China is very selfish. Caring only for its own people while many others died in Europe.
After 2 years of closed borders and lockdowns, the covid virus mutated a few times and in the process, weakens the virus. ONLY after the covid virus has mutated and weakened, selfish China opens its borders. This cowardly act prevented many deaths in China.
I feel China is totally irresponsible and selfish in their zero covid policy.
Good that they can enjoy their freedoms and that they are not letting covid dominate their lives anymore. Finally the Chinese authorities have come to their senses and have started to adjust to living with corona without going into damaging strict lockdowns everytime there are infections. Life without freedom isn’t worth living. The vast majority of those infected (99,9%) will survive it and will build up natural immunity against covid which is good. Omicron is also far less severe and only those with a weak immunity are at risk of getting severly ill or dying from it. That’s natural and unavoidable (survival of the fittest).
So 3 years of zero covid policy was just a waste of time or Xi way of getting re elected

One thing needs to know is that Chinese people tend to go straight to a hospital when they feel unwell. Women stay in hospital for at least one week just to give birth, quite a different illness treatment culture there. Threshold for going to hospital is low. Not everyone in the hospital actually needs to be hospitalised although they may have been infected by covid.
They go to see doctor for treatment of simple flu due to heavily subsidized medical, it’s quite contrary to the west.
Last week We went to one hospital in Hangzhou, China.
It was completely empty lol all workers had covid and they were still on duty.👏
We got some covid medicine and we went straight back home.

China has four unique variants circulating and will not make available the Genome Sequencing to our governments, what are they hiding? Ban all direct flights from China or place a 30 day quarantine period paid for by the visitors. If we don’t act now expect these variants on your doorsteps.

Im currently living in China and this is almost exactly how life looks like, however i don’t see kids playing outside like they used to do before the outbreak, i got covid and i spent almost 4 days laying in bed, luckily we got the medicine before getting covid otherwise it will be hard for me to move because i felt weak. We went to the hospital to get a new medicine for my wife since the previous one did not work and i was surprised that the hospital was almost empty and most of medical staffs got covid and they still on duty.
