The climate will whiplash between drought and inundation like this. Plants will burst forth in Spring, likely be savagely dried out in Summer and the wildfires will return. Or the next pineapple express might melt huge chunks of the snow pack (see Yosemite 1997) It’s more extreme weather, more often and with rising ferocity. Whatever you build will be destroyed and sure as heck no insurer will touch it.

California offers agricultural labor positions, like field work in it’s massive Central Valley, plus areas in Coastal California where most of the nation’s strawberries, artichokes, garlic, wine grapes, etc are grown.
