Australia’s New South Wales is dealing with its largest number of fish deaths on record.
Authorities say ‘millions’ of fish died in the Darling River near the small town of Menindee, about 1,000km (620 miles) west of Sydney, in New South Wales.
Government officials say an ongoing heatwave and receding flood waters are partly to blame.

I was thinking the same thing. Dead fish, fish meal and fish bone are high in nitrogen, good for healthy plant growth. If they can be collected up, dried and desiccated on an industrial scale, bagged and sold or given to nations with poor soil, it might serve everyone well. The only catch is to make sure the oxygen eating algae bloom doesn’t somehow end up in other bodies of water, drinking water, or the soil itself, killing off entire forests and all living creatures including humanity.
