In the South China Sea, Chinese coastguard ships have attempted to deny Philippine vessels access to Second Thomas Shoal island for the third time in five weeks.
The Philippine coastguards were escorting civilian boats carrying supplies for troops stationed on the disputed territory.

If China really want to Rival US then they should begin by befriending their neighbors. You can’t win against US this way, surely if smaller asian nation like Philippines, Vietnam, Taiwan, malaysia, Japan etc. Decide to combine arms to defeat this giant, they will succeed even without the assistance of USA.
And then there are two senators who are still asking why there are presence of US force in those areas? The Philippines and the US has a defense treaty to begin with and the Philippines has literally no capabilities to challenge such a huge presence of force from China.
