The United Nations Security Council has authorised the deployment of a multi-national security force to Haiti.
It’s designed to help the Haitian police battle heavily armed gangs that have become increasingly powerful there.
But it’s not clear when the force will arrive, or who, other than Kenya, will contribute to it.
Al Jazeera’s Shihab Rattansi reports from the UN headquarters in New York.

Russia and China don’t want people to live peacefully 😀 they just hate USA
So the vote wasn’t unanimous? The western media has left that out.
NATO and USA in not about peace …they are peace blasters !
Best of hopes to Haiti and its people. They just want peace, and we wish them the best. Hopefully this mission will be short and fruitful.
Well of course china and russia don’t want to help
No,they abstained from voting and never vetoed the resolutions
Prayers for the people of Haiti. They need help.

This system will not last much longer. We will soon hear the UN give the false hope of world peace 🌎✌🏼️ 1 Thessalonians 5.3
It’s about time! I’m glad a black country is helping another black country.
They shall welcome you guys 😅😅😅why you think American not going in 😂😂😂 fools never learn 👂🏾
Americans have hidden motives and are not familiar dealing with ghetto gangs, as for Kenyans we don’t need anything from Haiti, the only thing we want is for peace to prevail in the country that’s all. We’re not bringing in the army no,we’re bringing the police to help protect civilians from the gangs and train local police, because weren’t planning to stay their for long. This is what is called pan African spirit, Africans solving Africans problems not foreigners whom we know that always have ill motives
As a kenyan I can tell you for sure that this is a small problem for us. We just need to send some few GSU officers and flying squad unit, that’s it only two branches of the kenyan police is more than enough. And the gangs should be ready to surrender or meet their creator
I’m an American but I lived in Haiti and my family is Haitian
Let me tell you those gangs are uneducated fools with guns.
The Kenyan police will take them out without breaking a sweat.
Just another U.S. invasion to protect a ‘Bananna Republic’ (foreign “investments” and control) under the guise of “spreading Democracy” and stopping “Civil Unrest”
This time since Americans are sick of U.S. ‘Endless wars’ and invasions, the United States has opted to use a “multilateral” lead invasion approach instead i.e. other unwitting countries.
The REAL cartel are these foreign “investments” and U.S. backed puppets that are at the root of civil unrest.
I wonder if it’s just co-incidence some GOP are suggesting “invade” or go to war with Mexico.
As part of a related but broader strategy
Of course with most wars and invasions it is done at the behest of the 1% and their corporations.
It’s NOT a peacekeeping force.
It’s an occupation force to maintain a ‘Bannana Republic’ in Haiti.
