WanaBana issued a recall of their Apple Cinnamon Fruit Purée pouches in October because of lead contamination. The FDA estimates more than 50 children across the U.S. have high blood lead levels related to the recall. NBC News’ Vicky Nguyen reports.

Regulating food safety should be #1 in America!
Sweet🎉 super cool. 달콤🎉 정말 멋지네요.
हर देश में यहीं हाल है सरकारे सो रही है
you want the best for your child ? by what? feeding dollar tree store bought ready to eat food every day?
dont you guys uses common sense ! make your own baby food at home ! dont feed store bought that doesn’t spoil for years!!!!!!
What is that nombre
High sugar causes low sperm count
Heavy metal rock
I hope they sue! 🙁
What I really want the FDA and USDA to be doing (1) Make sure labels list all ingredients. This not the case now – for example, alternative sweeteners such as stevia products can include erythritol without it being listed as an ingredient – there are other examples. As someone with a corn allergy and daughter with Celiac, this is particularly problematic. (2) Test for contaminants such as heavy metals, PFAS, glyphosate, phthalates, mycotoxins. (3) Make sure organic labelled products are truly organic (organic does make a difference in terms of pesticide contamination, including glyphosate; it does not make a difference for some heavy metals such as arsenic). I don’t care about whether or not something has FDA approval for a particular indication or not – I’m not so stupid as to believe whatever hype gets put out there about a particular food, supplement or – even OTC or Rx drug, for that matter. I just want to know what exactly is in the stuff I’m buying, that it doesn’t have dangerous levels* of contaminants, and that organic is really organic. * if the levels are below the threshold that is considered dangerous, publish the data anyway so that people can decide for themselves how much they want to consume. Some people might eat more of a certain food than is typical; for example, people with Celiac tend to eat more rice than most people, so they need to more conscious of arsenic levels in rice and other foods.
I’d also be careful about plastic food packaging and containers. There are lots of contaminants that can leach into foods from plastics – not just BPA, but also phthalates and antimony. These can stress some of the same systems in the body that are compromised by lead (e.g., activity of paraoxonase enzymes).
AMERICANS MAKE YOUR OWN BABY FOOD. THEY ARE BUYING INGREDIENTS FROM CHINA!! EVEN BABY FORMULA HAS INGREDIENTS FROM CHINA. ITS INSANE!!!
STOP LETTING CHINA SEND INGREDIENTS FOR OUR FOOD!!!! BAN CHINESE PRODUCTS!!
Someone should analyze the chemical composition of the galvanization and solder used in making the industrial pots and other utensils that were used in the manufacture of these poisoned foods, even if the company bought these items thinking they were “stainless steel.” Just go to to the camping section of any fart mart and look at the disclaimers on the “stainless steel” camping pots and plates meant for cooking out of and eating off of. Someone would have to be out of their minds to purchase and use these things.
