Having been part of a volunteer team that filed a formal complaint about human abuses occurring in the Russia-Ukraine war, I have no confidence the UN can affect anything going on in Gaza rn. The UN answered our complaint with public speeches admonishing the Geneva Convention violations and demanded they be stopped. However, nothing changed. Human rights abuse continued because the UN has no real legal authority on its own to do anything. The member countries are not required by any of their own internal laws to follow anything the UN implores to be done. The UN is built on a trust and mutual respect model that easily breaks down in times of crisis. It’s breaking down with the abuses happening in and around Gaza. Please stop all wars, people! Mankind is losing its humanity. 🥺🙏🕊️
