A lot of the pro-Israel students have grown up sheltered and never had their personal political beliefs confronted. Now that they’re in college, their personal political beliefs are being challenged and that makes them feel uncomfortable and they’re equating feeling uncomfortable with being unsafe. Having someone tell you your personal political beliefs are reprehensible doesn’t make you unsafe.

Most Students that claim to be “unsafe” are really just uncomfortable. Which is the point of protesting. The raise in antisemitism is very real, as is the dramatic raise in islamaphobia
Also if you are in any way angry for any form of destruction of property by protestors, take a good hard look at yourself. People dying is always more important than a broken window. Your focus should not be on whether or not you believe students are protesting the “right way”, your focus should be on the tens of thousands of Palestinians displaced, injured, traumatized.
In the US you have the right to freedom of speech and assembly. But that does not mean your are free from consequences. The situation may be unfair, but that’s why you protest in the first place. Taking a stand is more than merely standing. You may get arrested, you may be fined , you may be expelled or lose your job. These are the prices you may have to pay in order to be true to your convictions. You can’t be much of a revolutionary if you complain about how you’re being treated. Remember you need the silent majority on your side to get any meaningful change.
