Scale of Ukraine’s strikes on Russia suggests an escalation in its military power: Analysis

Russia says it’s stopped a ‘massive’ Ukrainian air attack overnight by downing 158 drones in 15 regions, including two over Moscow.
An oil refinery near the city was hit. No casualties were reported.

Russia says five of the Ukrainian drones were downed in the Tver region, northwest of Moscow.
Posts on Telegram show a fire at the Konakov Power Station.

Ukraine also launched attacks in Russia’s Belgorod region.
One person was wounded and 12 apartment buildings damaged.

Meanwhile, Ukraine says two people have been killed and 10 injured in a Russian attack on a house in the eastern Kharkiv region.
The strike on the village of Cherkaska Lozova sparked a major fire.
The army says the eastern city of Nikopol was also targeted.
Russia and Ukraine have intensified cross-border attacks, since Ukrainian forces launched an offensive on the Kursk region in August.
