I don’t think people understand that the crap she bought is highly processed junk stuffed with chemicals and filler. It may be great to teach people on a budget how to eat, but she’s just showing retailers that they can justify their high grocery prices because consumers can just shop at dollar tree.
💯
I don’t think YOU understand that people who are poor or living in food deserts don’t have the luxury of being choosy. You’ve obviously never been in that situation before.
So glad she’s getting the recognition she desserves
Turkey’s are so bargain basement around Thanksgiving, I don’t know why anyone would waste time with Dollar Tree food. Also, I am seeing many more turkey’s frozen and otherwise, that are sodium phosphate free! Yay! This is awesome. A poor person can now afford a healthy turkey. I bought an approximately 14lb frozen sodium phosphate free turkey for $3.99 at Grocery Outlet with $35 dollars purchase in other groceries (no dairy or alchohol). I cut it up semi frozen, made soup broth out of the back and neck (toss the stinky greasy gamey tail), and we had one breast for Thanksgiving. The wings will make another big pot of soup, the drumsticks I like to BBQ first and make a smoky chili white bean & kale soup, the deboned thighs I food process into ground and mix with bulk pork sausage for yummy meatballs, and there is the second breast roast. I have a freezer full of meat and a happy Thanksgiving.
🙏
You mean 58 per person
The complainers are so stupid. Like you can switch things up, make recipe your own. She just gives examples of how she does it.
Off camera, she also cooks for the elderly in her area, as well as doing various versions of her food prep videos.
Meanwhile, CNN does a story on a woman who could not host a traditional Thanksgiving dinner for her family this year because she spent $500 last year on dinner for 7. People were commenting on the amount of money the woman spent last year. Like who spends $500 on Thanksgiving dinner for 7 people? What was she serving? This would have been a better, more helpful story for them to cover. Rather than making consumers feel worse. That woman needs to see this woman’s TikToks
Weird to make this about cnn
Now average ppl can’t get this stuff anymore bc ppl just for fun and views are gonna to buy everything out
“You will eat crap with 5 roomates own nothing and be happy, but Ukraine will still fight with your money”
This crap needs to end. Thank God we’re getting Trump back.
Yeah adding massive tarrifs onto all food imports and deporting all the immigrants that pick the crops and process the meat is gonna make groceries so cheap. Oh wait.
So when are we going to eat the rich?
I love that she did this but the fact that she needs to is sad. This is depression era stuff
Thank you for sharing this story with us. I’m so glad we have access to ideas such as the ones she shares. The fact she’s able to inspire so many , is both moving & motivational. 🥰🙏💖
Thks to Mr Bman r going hungry. Thk God to this sweet woman.
Ill take a whole turkey over salt filled processed canned
Ok
🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮
I applaud her for her grind. I am glad yhay she is getting greater exposure. I am so proud of her!
Sales. I got turkey for .39 a pound. You just need to stop around.
OMG I LOVE HER VDIEOS! She made the news that’s so cool, I’m so happy for her.
I’ve watched her for years! She has a very compassionate heart and her recipes are such great ideas for people of all different lifestyles.
turkeys are always on sale for .39 and .49 cents per pound right before thanksgiving…esp at Publix (.49 limit two per person – which is easy to circumvent) and Food Lion (.39 with 35$ purchase usually). that almost 26$ price tag is ridiculous.
OK? And what if they don’t have $35 to spend to get the discount? What if the only store in their area is dollar tree? What if they don’t have a freezer to store a giant turkey in? Good for you that you have all these things. Many do not, and that’s who the video is for.
She’s terrific. I’m so glad that I came across her. She said after she posted her Thanksgiving video, she gained 300,000 followers in two days.🎉 Now That’s an influencer!
Where I come from, we call these struggle meals. Struggle Meals are made with love and all the money one has left but so full of thought and care. Bless this lady and bless anyone living off struggle meals. And to my mom, who worked so hard and had so little thank you for all the struggle meals we had.Love you mama!
I follow her on you tube and have made her recipes in the past super easy and cheap!
Who cares about any of these merchants and peasant holidays
Let them eat cake 🎂
Good job as a human thankful for you this thanksgiving
There is no way the average cost of a thanksgiving dinner is under $60. I’m starting to think these averages are just made up. Average is at least $200.
Yeah. I saw they were even talking of frozen turkey closer to the day of so no time defrost it.
@ yeah. You’re not going to have a turkey on thanksgiving if it’s not defrosted 😅
@@mespb That’s why discounted. You see games they play to get result they want.
Rebecca (Dollar Tree Dinners) is one of my favorite Youtube creators! She shares realistic, affordable, flavorful, recipes that reach so many people in a variety of circumstances. She is an inspiration and a source of hope to so many people who are struggling to feed themselves and/or their families.
Looks totally nasty, all of it. Sorry, it does. Turkey isn’t that much.
Why all the comments like the same person under diffrent names? Seems like..
What is the difference between frozen & canned food? Oh well as long as you eat who cares what you eat
It may be $20 but that food is bottom of the barrel in terms of quality. It’s so dystopian that this is something we’re celebrating. How about normal brands just stop price gouging us so we don’t have to resort to Dollar Tree just to make a home-cooked meal?
A best-of-thanksgiving casserole is genius
We dont have those prices here in Canada, the dried cranberries alone would be $10! But Im so glad it worked our for many in her audience. Hope she does a Christmas video.
I really don’t feel like watching it but have a quick question. Where is the milk and butter for the Mac and cheese????? Cause milk/butter are costly that would take at least $5 of the $20.
i’ve never been in a position where i had this problem, thankfully, but i’d assume most people who can’t afford milk/butter/don’t have access to it, would just use water instead. not as good tasting as using milk and butter but still would work.
@ there’s butter in the picture I just didn’t notice at first. I tried using other substitutions for milk before, it comes out inedible and disgusting.
Didn’t dollar go bankrupt? And the warehouses are full of rats 🐀!!!!’ Eat up!
All I can hear is all the employees complaining about the RAT 🐀 infestation at dollar warehouse. Doubt you want to eat rat droppings stuffing.
Stop being cheap and buy your family better quality food. I’d walk out, if someone tried to serve me rat thanksgiving.
Rat 🐀 Thanksgiving
Go look at where they been storing all that food next to the rat nest.🪹
Dollar is full of 🐀 RATS !!!! No!
🤢 🤮 that looks so gross 🤮
Feeding your families and friends with rat feces cuz you cheap and nasty saying it’s the people??? No. Pretty sure everyone is there for the food. Lie to yourselves more.
Didn’t we ban TikTok yet? No one cares.
nice ragebait. 9 comments on this one video all in the same hour.
It’s a sad state of affairs that a good part of the North American population can’t exactly afford REAL fresh food as apposed to packaged food full of sodium & preservatives.
A family should at least be able to afford to eat one solid healthy meal a day. 💯😢
Tik Tok is BANNED on Government Devices. The More You Know 🌈 PSA
The deep state globalists are triggered
Stove top stuffing $2 and a $1 can of chicken broth to add instead of water (per directions).. Glory’s Canned collard greens or seasoned green beans $2. Canned candied yams $2. Aldi’s Specially Mac and cheese $2. Canned cranberry sauce $2. Grocery store rotisserie chicken 7-8 dollars. Banquet fruit pies for dessert, $1 each… Great value brand at Walmart is even cheaper…. If there’s more people to feed, a meatloaf, mashed potatoes, canned corn or peas goes along way. 1.5 – 2lbs of ground beef can feed 7 people. Some stores sell bags of potatoes for less than $3.50.
Our thanksgiving cost us only $30 with tax. That was for our chuck roast, can of chipotle, cheese, and tortillas. I made birria tacos.
Great effort and no condenmation but while the price and effort is awesone, the food does not look appealing because we eat with our eyes first nor can it be tasty so why mislead the viewers?
Love her channel! I made this Best of Thanksgiving casserole with leftovers, it was delicious.
Gag is: the dollar tree ain’t cheap lol
i made this and it was good but the canned turkey was not good in it. it kinda tasted like cat food. here in canada it cost me 36 dollars to make. while this is a great idea it can be made cheaper with grocery store items and made from scratch. the sodium darn near killed my guts
Rebecca’s Thanksgiving meals go viral every year. Bless her kind hearted soul, she deserves her flowers
Do all of that but splurge on 5 bucks of real turkey(12 to 16oz)the canned stuff gives me nightmares
I love her videos
Why dont you talk about why this budget option went viral on views. You know, the state of the country.
This makes me so sad
So cool!!!! So many of us are struggling horribly to say the least. I’m glad ppl found her videos! ❤❤❤❤❤
The richest country in the world and we have to do this.
This is crap though …
What she did was great but… It’s just sad that healthy groceries are so expensive. Everything is so expensive. Everyone is tired of hustling just to get by. Do you think any politician or these reporters would ever have to have a dollar store dinner?
And the ppl who struggle are ppl who don’t qualify for food stamps and section 8 bc they work an extra 1.25 hr a day to hit 40 hr of week who are just a couple of hundred dollars above the poverty line . The working class ppl !!!! Just in case ppl start saying that they get food stamps or rent paid so they should hv more than enough. You know the majority of ppl who the rich and the poor leech on to pay their portion of taxes . God forbid you work and get a bonus or overtime Uncle Sam comes knocking down ur door looking for his piece, worse than the mafia 😂😂😂😂
This says a lot about America
Wow
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Could if just get a 5 dollar chicken from costco. Tsk tsk tsk
Preservatives for only $1 nice
That’s it. I’m going to the dollar tree.
Average is $50?? Lol
I didn’t have one $20 bill.
Thanks for making me feel like sh1t.
I cooked for 5 people, and it cost me $200 lol
As I laugh at the maga complaining on FB that he paid $72 for a 25 lb butterball turkey. No wonder these people think the economy is so bad. 😂 They buy the most expensive thing they can find, then whine about it.
This was on YouTube 😂 not ticktock its like you know theres a american company called YouTube they’re the ones who started this whole video clip thing…. You’re currently posting on it right now did you know that
Trying to show us how to “pull up the boot straps”?
Thank you Wall Street for leaving us behind.
We got a regular sized turkey from Walmart from $12.15
I rather have expensive food that taste good then cheap food that taste bad. To get better quality you need to spend more
SOME PEOPLE DONT HAVE THAT OPTION!
Nahhhhh that doesn’t look appetizing at all. Also, a turkey isn’t as much as they claim. I saw turkeys at walmart, aldi, brookshires and kroger and NONE were $24+….
Good on her… but how about we start paying ppl a living wage and an overall better life 🤷🏾
The fact that this is even making the news shows how bad our economy is right now. 🤦♀️
Canned turkey is what MOW…meals on wheels used in my Thanksgiving tray tiny meal. Isn’t good but better than nothing. The Dole peach “creme ” in a teeny cup was not edible, to me. The “dessert “…didn’t eat that.
Things really need to get a lot better in the USA. Just grateful for what there is.
7 people this year with all the 3 sides, deserts, bread, drinks. Everything. Was close to $500. $58 my 🍑
There are so many pretentious, obnoxious, out of touch food snobs on social media, too many. What we need are more people who know how to stretch the dollar with food and can share that with more people. The last four years were catastrophic, a lot of people slipped into poverty, food insecurity, and financial hardship who have never really been in this situation before. They need to see the ways this can be done.
She’s one of my favorite YouTubers ❤
Get a $4.99 rotisserie chicken at Costco
We dont all live next to a costco, im +1 hr away from 1.
Bruh this the food pantry box they give to the 🥷 at school who live in da trenches, how is trending? 😂😂
bait
Former middle class finding out “secrets” 🥷s been doing never ceases to amaze me
I’m glad to see her get attention. However, this is what people are doing these days to make it. This is nothing new.
i get the hustle. But people should realize that it is time to hold those in-charge accountable for the inflation of the prices for even our most basic needs.
I don’t know about you folks BUT if you can feed 10 grown adults on a Thanksgiving meal presented in a 9x9x3 inch then you must be a starving Ethiopian with 9 starving Ethiopian friends/family members.
But for the fact she used KRAFT ranch dressing (I would only ever use Kraft/Ken’s ranch) throws the $20 meal out the window
Nice try
But seriously, my son and I could live off of it for 5 days because our stomachs have shrunk that much in this last year.
Hunger even in rural Missouri 😞
I honestly had no idea that I was able to spend less money on groceries and then end up with more money because of it and not have to throw half of it in the garbage because I made too much. This is crazy.
Lol America is soo cooked. Yay goy slop from dollar tree because we are so poor and hopeless….
$58 doesn’t sound that much to me because I go with family so we each make something. But if it’s just one person buying, then yeah that would be a lot so this would be a really good idea.
The food looked nasty af lol
Go Vegan
Yuppp
So happy she got this recognition! Been following her for a while and her entire USP is that she does affordable meals that people with strict budgets or dietary concerns/ physical disabilities can follow. Was thrilled to see that this video went viral.
Id rather just eat less, and eat healthy food… than all that processed crap in dollar stores😅
Rebecca has a channel on here.
dollar tree is a dollar and 25 cent plus tax now ,
not all item at dollar tree is good value
