Water sources are drying up in parts of the Himalayas and people are forced to look elsewhere for places to live and work.
But new technology in irrigation might help people stay in their homes.
As water sources are drying up throughout different areas, a team has come together to set up tanks and a new system to help get closer to solving the problems with water and irrigation. The system consists of solar panels that are set up and can be maneuvered towards the direction of the sun. The direct current generated pumps the water from the source into the tanks. There are pipes that then connect the tanks with the village and the rest of the work is done by gravity.
This technology does not come cheap but it is hoped that it will provide a way forward to solving this growing problem.

Need to tel them to keep the solar panels clean.
they cant keep themselves clean leave alone a solar panel
@HMS really
@HMS they may not be the wealthiest but are some of the healthiest bunch of people and would smell like flowers and organic soil. Ever heard of mineral spring or natural hot springs located in your neighbourhood? you wish you had one to clean yourself from your toxic realm.
Nice
This is all well and cool but i hope they can maintain this commodity i don’t want to see this go to waste.
Without crop rotation irrigation can only only temporary benefits. Change must start with the people.

Nepal is hindu rashtra
@sourabh zla. Its secular country. And main thing it is not like india where muslim are not safe.
Many hillsides have almost been stripped bare of trees. This is no doubt that the heart of the issue lies there as the denuded slopes no longer retain water and the topsoil is washed away. Furthermore, a lack of forest means that an important factor in moderating temperature is lost.
tree cutting for fuel is one of the biggest problems around the world. it’s the same in some argentina indigenous communities, sahel, haiti and nepal it’s incredible.
Nepal😍😍😍
Awesome 👏🏽 Other villagers must need to be follow ASAP 🌳⛰🛠🚰🌾

Such communities should be trained on aspects of permaculture and modern and ancient organic growth promoters. Biodynamic concepts could be brought in too.
Nepal can learn how indian state of Himachal Pradesh has emerged a pioneer in agriculture .. with the help of lift irrigation systems… Our Himachal government has provided the irrigation to all farmers by building water pumping stations in lower areas (valleys) to higher areas .. these pumping stations pump water to tanks in highest point of village or towns.. and through this tank we have water distribution system to all village for irrigation and drinking as well .. this scheme has lifted initially all of Himachal out of poverty .. and state has emerged as 4th highest per capita income stste in india
Mahakali river agreement and many such agreement stops Nepal to use the water from the river!
Thats the problem…though river is our India exploits it!
Nepal should really revise these unfair water agreement! Terai is suffering from such problems!
Indian official assured the farmers to provide with irrigation but it came out to be fake and India now have full control on the river!
@Haha Haha I don’t know about the river agreement but Himachal is also a hilly region like nepal .. and still lift irrigation systems don’t need river water ..they can get water from check dams ground water etc.. it will not be easy for nepal to build canals in the the hills .. so they can provide water from all sources
It’s nice that Bhandari isn’t corrupt, like most people in the department of irrigation
Good Nepal ,
Government must look in terai land also…
Due to lack of irrigation system people of Terai facing various problems and believe me with little effort here they can grow 3times more crops ✌️

Well its not only Glitters. This costly investment is not one time investment.
DC motors are still very expensive to purchase and repair than AC motors.
Also, power generated by the panel is much less. Its a significant trade-off from the AC motors to be used from electricity.
So, yeah I would rather prefer to install AC motor, the national gridline has already reached many corners of Nepal
🇳🇵
Oh awsome , Nepal is a very beautiful country 😍😍😍😍 ,
