Dominican Republic to build wall in bid to keep out Haitians

Relations between Haiti and its wealthier neighbour, the Dominican Republic, have been historically difficult on the Caribbean island of Hispaniola. Now the Dominican government has announced plans to build a wall between the two to end illegal migration. Several dead as gang leader escapes in Haiti prison break

At least 75 dead in Ecuador prison riots, dozens injured

0 Riots have broken out at three separate prisons in Ecuador, leaving at least 75 inmates dead. Officials blamed the riots at detention facilities in the cities of Guayaquil, Cuenca and Latacunga on disputes between rival gangs. Haiti’s constitution says a new president’s term begins on February 7 – everyone agrees on that, but not on which year. President Moise says he has another year in office. What will Cuba’s new single currency mean for the island?
