I cut this clip from a much longer recording because I think this topic deserved its own video. Enjoy. Snapchat / Instagram: GPStephan

Life is exactly like one long poker game! As you learn, you move up in stakes!
You learn to play each hand optimally, you have to manage risk, and you constantly HAVE TO learn and adapt! Cheers 🙂
+Teo G Poker Vlog Ha perfect username for this 😜
GrahamStephan I like how you used the same style text I use in my thumbs 😎 cheers !
This is so important for some people to hear: regardless of your situation you can make the difference of yourself. You just need to put your head on straight everyday, and WORK towards your future.
It’s so true. Totally up to you to make the best of every situation.
So true..
Great video keep it up do you think it’s worth to drop out of high school & do online schooling or start your real estate career at 18?
Do not drop out of high school. College can be up for debate but I would NOT drop high school and finish online.
I always thought it was like a box of chocolates
Is that you Jenny?
You are amazing man, I have been learning from you over the past year and I have created over $2345 in extra monthly income for me and my family on top of my career. You are a massive motivator being around the same age as myself I want you to know you are loved. Have a great weekend!
Thanks Graham, to summarize, I converted a portion of your videos into soundtracks I could have on my phone while at the gym, It was clear after the hundredth time to focus on doing the things I was afraid of doing because even if I fail I have now moved in the direction I wanted to be going. A modicum of confidence that I had lacked was restored, then the following months formed an oligopoly with close relatives simply by listening to the dreams of an entrepreneur that I felt I could greatly relate with, now moving forward I am unperturbed by life’s wax and wane because your words have instilled a palpable sense of accomplishment inside me no matter what cards I have.
tf lol
Yeh, its great.
Brian Kim exactly what I thought lmao he dodge the question so well lol
You will find a way Alex, I believe in you.
Wanna play poker? 😜
Always down!
can I play too? I’l vlog lolol
Yo Graham, unrelated to the video, but what watch are you wearing?
Panerai!
GrahamStephan nice!
Took that poker analogy straight from Gary Vaynerchuk lol but still good video.
I don’t watch Gary enough to have seen him say this analogy, but I suppose great minds think alike? 😜
You will never know what kind of hand anyone has. But what you will always know is that EVERYONE is dealt a hand.
And anyone can dominate with whatever hand they’re given!
GrahamStephan yes sir ! When you gonna get some bitcoin man!? You’re too smart to be missing out in the coming technological revolution.
GrahamStephan watch some Andreas Antonopoulos. Solid dude.
Graham, I’ve a few questions to ask. How much money would you need to buy a property? How much money would you need to rebuild a home?
Would it be best to rent out or sell a property?
(Lets just say i’m a hardware engineer. Saved up 100-200k cash and was wondering these few questions.)
Payton Saultz these are not the right questions to ask. Do some studying first then come with better questions. All of that shit depends. And renting out is the better option
I’d say 20% or so down + renovation costs. So that exact dollar amount depends on your location and where you’re investing. Rebuilding a home is so specific to an area, I’ll spend anywhere from $15k-$120k or so. As for renting out a property, that’s what I like doing – check out the 1% rule, it’s the most common calculation for determining how well a property cash flows. But it’s also very location specific (I’d never get that in LA for instance).
GrahamStephan Also, I want to see a video of the finishing progress of the 5th property you owned.
What did you dream of becoming in your childhood?
As a kid, a police officer. Then marine biologist. Then a professional drummer. Turned into a Realtor 🙂
*PORNSTAR*
Confession time: I watch most of your videos while I’m on the toilet…. Kill two birds with one stone!!!
Brilliant
Graham, Thanks for these awesome, inspirational videos.
+brad lee Thank you for watching!
Most of us have the capability to be great. I like the quote I guess from Bill Gates is not your fault you were born poor, shame on you for choosing to be poor.
I like that quote!
What a remarkable analogy. I listen to this video and it puts a lot in perspective. Given the cards I was dealt I have so far played well.i believe. Some look at me and completely have no idea of my upbringing but they just know that it must of been great. In reality it was sub par in many ways, buts it’s a phenomenal motivator. Thank you for the video it encourages and inspires me to stay on course and to continue to creat my own story.
Thank you so much for watching man!
I’m from the bottom, you know when you from the bottom when your parents have hope in you. They are waiting on you to become successful so you can help them out. I moved to America when I was 17 Now I’m 26 I have family back home to support, I’m the oldest too, those kind of things makes me who I am today, I was fortunate to have a father as a role model, he was a math teacher, when I moved here I didn’t speak English but since I was good in math I was Abel to help my teacher correcting papers, I promise myself to not let things like that to stop to be come successful in life. I learned something very important in life Things happen to everybody poor, middle class and Rich, it might hit us different but the key is what do you do about it? We can be a better person if we work in ourselves.
Amazing dude. I here are you originally from?
GrahamStephan Haiti English is my 3nd language lol 😂 still learning
but you are really a true inspiration bro I followed other older Successful people like Jim Rohn, Les Brown, Brian Tracy, Robert K. and more you are the youngest one I followed the only one I can related too. No bs you are the best bro
+Stanly Berthil ah I really appreciate that man! Means a lot to hear!
GrahamStephan you too Bro
Hi Graham,
This video really spoke to me. Thanks for making such great content. I’m a YouTube myself, I’ll be creating a response to this video soon! Thanks for this!
Looking forward to it, can’t wait to see it!
House tour!
+Payton Saultz Yes yes this will happen
Very well said Graham 👌
+WhiteBoard Finance Thank you!
Life is like a poker game. You get what you get. What matters is how you play your hand
🙏🏼
Are you inspired by Confucious or something? What wonderful words of wisdom! It was so powerful that I have to write it down.
Thank you so much, I haven’t looked into Confucius or anything – will check it out
Oh nooo, where is B the Lee????? This must be a first not first
He better be sleeping in!
I have a feeling he’ll be back!
If I remember correctly there is a guy that lived in Syria (war country) he was super poor and his parents were abusive….. And he is now a Billionaire.
It happens. Seems like so many billionaires are completely self made.
GrahamStephan Google Mohed Altrad
I like your art on the wall behind you
Does this guy sell crack?
I think he’s a cocaine dealer
Meth actually
Oh. That’s okay, you’re still learning
My husband is from a tiny village in Mexico, he came to the U.S.at the age of 9, now we have a business that generates enough income for us to live the lifestyle we only dreamed of, and he purchased his dream car, a McLaren this year. I love this analogy, I have always seen life this way, and an now in the process of making my own real estate empire, we certainly did not come from a wealthy, or even educated family, but God gave us the gift of intelligence and determination, and that is all we need! Thanks for the video Graham!
Jael.nere Awesome stuff
Jael.nere wow congratulations 🎉
That’s amazing, which McLaren did he get? Well done!
GrahamStephan That’s what I was wondering too😂
Inspiring stuff. My story is similar except I was born here after my parents immigrated. They grew up poor. For years my mother apologized for not giving me everything. I thanked her and told her she gave me the best gift you could give to anyone: bringing me to this country. If you have the drive and smarts, then the world is your playground.
no matter what hand we’re delt with..WINNER’S always WIN…always
Me and my girlfriend are both 18 turning 19 next year and we plan on doing real estate here in Los Angeles . I love the fact that I found RE interesting because I plan on dominating with my girl weather we are together or not as we have been saying this since high school ! 🤑🤑🏆🏆🏆 let’s get ittttt !!!
Get it man, LA is such a good area to do real estate in!
Any advice for those who have no job or income? I mean finding job is good start but it is not as easy as apply and get a job
I’d make my focus finding a job if you need the immediate income. Otherwise I’d focus on building up some income doing your own thing. But you’ll for sure need some money coming in.
My dude always with fire videos!!! Keep making more content pleaseeeee
+Patricio Alat You got it!
best video yet
+Brian Tran Thank you so much man!
This just one amazing video !
Another great vid. Keep it up. I recently start writing a book, and i thought that maybe you should write one too. You got so much important and useful information to share with the world. And make some extra passive income.
What happened with the outro. Maybe some music or something, just a suggestion. 🙂
Hey Yovani! That’s awesome, what’s your book about?
Yeah, this was just a quick clip I through together, no outtro on this!
GrahamStephan my passion to be successful and how I’m going to achieve it.
I agree 100%.
You absolute legend.
Great video, but what’s up with that shaking camera. It’s a bit disturbing
Yeah….tell me about it, lol, it was the only second footage I had
so much truth! u a real one bro.
Video suggestion- I feel like I am always seeing people say “Dont work for money make money work for you” Or ” Dont work hard for money work smart” Which I agree with but at the same time I think it is neccasary to work hard atleast at the beginning so you HAVE money to invest maybe title it “Why you SHOULD work hard for money” Would like to hear ypur thoughts on this!
Good idea, will definitely cover this at some point!
The scenario is very common for many poor, immigrants, or others who come from zero. They are hungry, they are willing, they want better.
Exactly. I think that’s what makes a huge difference in motivation to do better!
Have you read that book, David and Goliath by Malcolm Gladwell?
Haven’t read it!
I think it relates pretty well to the point you’re making.
Is the camera man having a stroke or does he have Parkinson’s?
LOL long story 😂
I see you went for the High Stakes Poker player look
Should’ve worn the glasses 😂
GrahamStephan lmao
Great video
You know what I hate is the fact that a lo people born into wealthy or rich family’s are giving a great start in life to do whatever they want and just mess it up by going on drugs or stupid shit like that they don’t know the true value of money
I think they don’t care because when they run low on money they have their parents to fall back on who worth probably millions so they just don’t give a shit where lower class people don’t have people to fall back on so they know the true value of money because they experienced bad days in there life sorry if the spelling is bad
I rescently discovered bryan casella’s channel, he goes in with the door knocking and cold calling for lead generation, how do you generate leads?
I don’t do either, I can’t stand door knocking and cold calling. Nothing against it, it’s just not for me. I’ve got business from doing open houses and leases, but most of my business now is word of mouth and referral.
Great Advise, It doesn’t matter what hand you been deal what matters is what you do with it
What’s your favorite quote?
I don’t really have one…bros before hos? lol I don’t know
*Everyone is dealt a hand…. unless you were born without hands*
I had too do it😂
+*1.25Speed on everything LOL
Sometimes when you come from a struggle you end up having more sense than someone that’s privileged that cucks around in life. FACTS 👩👦Vs👪
+Kodak White Ha so true
Thanks for keeping it real, G.
+Russ Lea Thanks for watching!
Your analogies are always on point! Great video!
+Bob Smith thanks!
It does not matter how much money you have…it is how your parents raise and mentor you.
Well that’s a little bit of nature vs nurture. I’m sure each have an impact but I don’t believe one is directly responsible for the other.
Loved the video… would love more content with you guys together discussing property!
+Martin Evans Thank you! Yes this will happen!
Little cringey seeing you in Russian Bois comment section. Makes me wonder what kind of YouTubers you keep up with though.
haha, I’m subscribed to like 100+ people that i’ve watched for years now
Dude your analogy is like reminder for me , not to waste my chance , wake up call Its very good , Thanks
I dont qualify to Grant Cardone investment fund. Do you know someone investing in real estate who can give returns of 7-12% on the money too?
You can get those returns for yourself, man. Learn to do it on your own, it’s not as difficult as you think!
besides the fact that the content is awesome, what the heck is that guy with the camera doing? catching flies?
LOL….long story will save that for another time haha
cool desk
Life is absolutely a poker hand. Thanks for the inspiration Graham.
Thats actually yeah good job
Hey Graham,
Big fan. This is slightly off-topic, but could you do a video on the GOP tax plan and what you plan to do to work around the obstacles it poses towards real estate? Thanks!
I’ll cover this if it passes, still learning it myself!
Graham, love the videos man! Its about time we work together.
Thanks so much, David!
I had abusive parents growing up and no one really gave much shit about my sufferings as a child in development because in their eyes i grew up into an upper middle class parents with nice car nice house so yeah people just thought i was just a whiny bitch and when i spoke out they told me to compare myself to kids who grow up in the ghetto and how hard their life is but u know they dont know shit.
fave vid so far bud
Woooooo thanks breh!!
The guys interviewing has a death stare
Well said, man.
lesson from this: don’t spoil your kids
Well, I also see rich kids absolutely do well, too…so I think a lot just depends on the person.
So is everyone going to ignore that BADASS JACKET , i mean i listened to what he said but that jacket caught my attention too. Beautiful jacket Steph!
Ha thanks so much!
GrahamStephan Thank you for the reply Steph! If you have time, which boom would you recommend me for absolute beginners, Ryan Scribner told me that “Stock Market for dummies” is the best for beginners.
Book*
This guy has it right, impressed!!
Thanks Andy!
Excellent video and advice, just one tip, try to use a tripod or a steadicam for the second camera it’s too shaky and makes it difficoult to concentrate on what you are saying, keep up the good work.
People who come from nothing have to work harder and need to be smarter in order to succeed in life than kids who have rich parents that give them everything. That’s the BIG difference there.
mate… thats a wonderful speech… not hate speech … but u mentioned it in the right way… amazing vid..
Again with the low likes? Come on people! I actually really like this/these? (assuming this is multi-part video). It’s cool Graham, I got you. 👍 like button smashed!
Your self-awareness about your upbringing and nurturing is so refreshing.
It’s so weird hearing graham cuss 😂😂😂
Ben mallah is a great example
Wow, this gives me hope. Having to work for everything I have has been tough. But I I will play my hand
