The title mentions “flocks” but no evidence was shown or even mentioned. It would have been interesting to get some insight from tourist operators, or airport authorities on number of visitors and how safety is being insured. I have also not heard anything about impacts on local wildlife.

@Richard Kocksworthy Not all volcanoes are explosive. Those formed at subduction zones definitely are. The ones formed over hotspots like Hawaii or La Palma produce mostly lava flows. They can become explosive if water enters the conduit and comes into contact with the magma.
