GERD is meant to produce electricity .It doesn’t consume water.Nile water flows to Sudan &Egypt . Egypt is well aware that this is the least we can do. So GERD isn’t an issue for Egypt . The paradox is that GERD creates huge opportunity for Sudan to develop a vast agricultural land using regulated Nile water for free which immediately reduces the amount of water that flows to Egypt. That is the hidden agenda why Egypt stubbornly opposes the construction of GERD. Wake up Sudan !!!✌️🇸🇩🇸🇩🇸🇩

Ethiopia didn’t build a dam on Nile. It built on ABBAY. We call the river Abbay it means Big or main in our local language. The river becomes Nile when it left Ethiopian boarder. The Egypt and Sudan deliberately shout to make the whole bank of the river be known as Nile for their purpose. We will continue to do our development work on the other rivers.

I think the Egyptian play the wrong tune when it comes to GERD. GERD does not affect Egypt water share. I believe since Egypt played the wrong political tone in GERD situation Ethiopia will start building canals just like Egypt does to use all Nile tributaries.
