Refugees and aid groups say the fighting in Darfur is less about the battle between the Sudanese armed forces and the Rapid Support Forces than it is an existential war between communities in the region.
Masalit leaders report that militias are targeting their tribe, in particular, and some refugees are describing the persecution in el-Geneina, the capital of West Darfur, as a genocide.
Aid groups worry that the violence could spread across the region and the Masalit warn that other tribes could be targeted next.

The Destruction of the innocent, humble and gentle people of Africa began with the invasion and conquest of the Nile Valley by Arabs and other Asiatic nomads seeking food. The indigenous peoples of Africa must come to the stark realisation that no other ethnic group has their interest or well-being at heart. Foreigners chief concern is the vast resources of Africa. For thousands of years they have been resisting invasion and conquest. If they are to succeed they must first rid themselves of all foreign religions, concepts of God, systems of social and economic organisation and governance.
In the Twenty-first century there is no place for inter-tribal conflict. They are all branches of one common ancestor who travelled across our vast ancestral motherland. Therefore, every effort must be made to enlighten all Africans of this incontrovertible historical reality.
Thereafter, all Africans must unite and cleanse Africa of all foreign invaders who intrenched themselves and now dominate, oppress, exploit and abuse Africas. Its time to act decisively against both internal and external enemies. Until we do, our children and future generations of African people are doomed forever.
AlJaneina belongs to all tribes. The Massalit should learn how to live in peace with the other tribes.
