The motive of killing is family honor
Hey could you tackle Zambian policing. For a “peaceful nation” Zambia has undergone a lot since 2018. Several cases of police violence against opposition party ralies, protesting students at universities (death of 4th year student Vesper shimunzhila due to suspect faulty police equipment), disgruntled unemployed youths (who had to protest from the bush out of fear of being arrested) and even protests against the policies inability to protect people during 2020s household chemical attacks (locally refered to as gassing incidents, with the person/s still not discovered) has left lots of people injured with some deaths being caused directly by their actions. (The accidental shooting of an 8th grade pupil Frank Mugala)
I think it’s important for you to shade light on it because 2021 is an election year in Zambia. Last week the opposition party president Hakainde Hichilema was summoned to the police station, where he was questioned and later on allowed to leave. some sympathizers of his, gathered to support him and 2 of them were shot and died as the police charged in to break up the crowd. While the official statement by the chief of police was that the police weren’t responsible for the deaths and would investigate who caused it, the deaths are somewhat being taken as a threat against opposition sympathizers. I only say this because a few months back, the minister of Health who was being investigated by a the anti corruption commission was taken to court where so many sympathizers came to show him support that the court date had to be postponed. I personally have not come across any record of police attempting to break the crowd, firing teargas and there were no fatalities.
While Zambia has been a very peaceful nation, the seeming heavy handed approach by the police of crushing any criticism against the government of the day is feeling more and more like a threat against opposition party sympathizers as well as the freedom of conscience to choose a leader of your preference. The use of live bullets to scatter crowds of citizens should not be tolerated in any 21st century democratic country.

As a man, in my opinion the problem lies in the following
1- muslim clerks and preachers that links being a cucklods or pimp, or someone who is not a good muslim if he didn’t make sure that his wife ‘s body or one of his family members are not exposed to a stranger ( i guess we need to vvalidate pure islamic opinions to understand what is really right and wrong as i have no clear view in such part but it has been a point of question)
2- the peer pressure , it shall be well considered cause it is a massive driving force
I guess the first one is where the logic exists, if you could show that religiously it is fine that i have no control on any family members and won’t be really dishonored if i accepted ny sister to be in a relation outside marriage , and it is not a disgrace nor my responsibility, then i guess the second will come in sequence

Anyway the crime here is murder ,and should be addressed as such not in terms of Gender and before you take out your pitchforks let me tell you my reasoning,.
By adding the tittle honour killing or violence against women in a misogynistic society you attach some type of hero-like label to the crime this makes even the murderers view themselves in a certain way,they will see punishment as an essential sacrifice. When I see these protests and such I see a huge problem, because they don’t involve the other half of the population, crime to some extent is largely influenced by a society’s culture, legislation may help curb crime but as long as the criminals are perceived positively by society then you will have quite the difficult time curbing such crimes. These societies should invest alot in educating and campaigns that paint men who committed such crime as the most dishonourable people on earth such that a stigma is attached to the criminal and even the criminal’s family .To a society that attaches so much value to honour I believe such a solution would prove more effective. Remember the goal is to prevent the crime from happening not punishing the crime, since the victim is the one who loses,the perpetrator may even be treated as an honourable guest in prison or even a martyr.
