Russian President Vladimir Putin has ordered a partial mobilisation after Moscow’s troops suffered losses in Ukraine.
In a televised address on Wednesday, Putin warned Western nations supporting Ukraine that Moscow would defend itself with the might of all its vast arsenal if faced with a nuclear threat from the West.
He also announced his support for planned referendums in Ukrainian territories under Russian control.
Meanwhile, Ukrainian leaders are far from scared by the prospect of fighting a much larger army.

Why did the NATO want to go to Russia’s border in the first place? Would the US allow Russia do something similar? Why is nobody talking about the Ukrainian soldiers who killed 14.000 civilians in the Donbas throughout the last 8 years? They were killed for speaking the Russian language. Selensky is a Ukrainian nationalist, who became president thanks to the US. He was meant to provoke a war started by Russia. The US wanted that to happen and knew, that the war was inevitable.

I’m confused. How is an invasion and occupation defense in any way? Just as the USA was “defending their freedom” by invading a foreign nation on the opposite side of the globe, it doesn’t make sense. I get that Ukraine is a direct neighbor of Russia, but I’m unaware of any hostile intentions or invasive actions taken by Ukraine that would call for “defense” tactics by Russia. The only issue I see is NATO setting up shop directly next to a non NATO ally and telling Russia what they can and can’t do; but even then, why not just make peace and join NATO and end this “second Cold War”? It’s all nonsense. There is no need for war in the 21st century. We should all work together for a common goal.

Russia has to act quick and solidify its position over Ukraine before the 2024 US elections. A strong leader in US will not be able to domestically stand the shame of letting Putin do whatever in Ukraine. But if the situation is in Russian control by then, then US will not fiddle with it either and leave it be as a status-quo.
Also, like Crimea. Ukraine is gone too. Russia is never withdrawing.
