Here’s a quick rant for y’all about what really brings long lasting happiness, from my experience. It’s not money and fancy things (although a Lotus helps, a little). But seriously, from my experience, it’s the the adventures you have along the way that brings the most enjoyment and fulfillment in life. It’s the doing and not the receiving. It’s the memories and experiences and not the things. This is how to be happy.
Buying things is cool, and it’s nice – but it’s just a quick “fix” rather than a lasting solution. Inevitably, we all build up a tolerance to things and outer stimuli that creates our new baseline of what we need to be happy again. Much like a drug, we continue needing more to get the same level of excitement as we once did. Understanding this helps put things into perspective that there will never be enough, there will always be more, and chasing the dragon won’t lead to future happiness. With this in mind, enjoy the moment – be grateful – and have fun with the process.

Now that your becoming a bigger youtuber you wouldn’t be able to communicate as well with your fans so I wanted to ask you what is something you would tell your younger self to get you through life
Yes I’m in college and many of these seniors seem to be lost and still not sure with their future same with me , pursuing a computer science degree love it but still not sure if I want to work for someone else
TheZane03 You said the words I’ve been trying to say. I want to work under my own terms – not put a leash on myself and work by the paycheck.
At first, I wanted to become a computer science major as well, because I heard the pay is really nice and you get many job opportunities. Now I’m almost done with my second semester of college, and I found out that math is not my thing anymore; it just kicks my ass.
What I learned from Graham’s videos – as a real estate agent – is that you not only get to do things on your own terms, but the job is a learning process. You get to see new things, meet new people, and most importantly, you enjoy the process because it’s a hands-on experience. That to me sounds way more appealing than working as an office drone, to say the least.
Your videos are awesome dude, I listen to them during my breaks and when I’m doing cardio at the gym. Thanks for the time you invest in your channel, stay lit dude!
I am in so much love of ur wisdom man 👍
@Graham Stephan p
True happiness comes form freedom, doing what you want when you want and being able to have some comfort is the ice on the cake
Man I love your channel you always talk about the truth and swear and keep it a buck with us all. A lot of the other “motivational” channels fucking shove their cars & money in our faces and we feel like shit then say “don’t give up” like fuck you man. Anyways, thanks a lot man. That really helps. I’ve always thought having money is my happiness, guess not. When I get a Corvette it’s gone be my happiness
+Ali Blue3z Thank you so much for the kind words. I agree with you wholeheartedly. I’ve read a lot of the self help books out there, watched them on YouTube, listened to them on podcasts – some of it is total crap, especially the type of videos you’re referring to. Usually those are the same people trying to sell you some type of system. I’m glad I can do something different! Corvettes are great by the way, aim for a Z06 😜
This is exactly how they give advice”Hey I have 4 cars cost more than $100K and I am RICH! you can own the same cars and be rich too, but not today pal! Today you will stare at my cars and watch me play with my money, BUT don’t get discouraged pal you can be rich too, but not today! Haha don’t forget to leave a comment on how poor you are and how rich i am and please subscribe so i can make more money to get you motivated and jealous at the same time! Good luck!”
Thanks for the reply brotha tho!! You actually help a lot! Start doing vlogs your lifestyle looks super chill. I will start a YouTube channel when I get my corvette as well and follow your steps to spread positive vibes and help others.
+Ali Blue3z hahahahaha your description was hilarious, that is wayyyyyy to accurate 😏 I’ve thought about doing vlogs but it really wouldn’t be that exciting, all the good stuff can’t be filmed (showings, meeting up with clients) and the other stuff would be pretty repetitive – so for now I’m saving the vlogs for days I know it’ll be interesting and when things will happen that’ll be worth watching!
Process of doing something. Just like Gary V says
+Gianni Zamora Gary Vee is amazing! He’s been all I’ve been watching and listening to for the last week.

+SniperKills100 🙌🏼
The sound of your car turns me on dude, lol. Great content!
+Quadavia Chambers It turns me on, too 😜 Stage 2 exhaust 2nd cam = amazing
Would you say it’s better to have a job you love but make just enough to live off of… or have a job that you hate but make enough money to spend on nice things (ex: travelling, cars, etc)
+avep67 There’s a balancing act between the two. I believe taking the higher paying job as a short term strategy to hit long term goals/freedom can be worth it. But over the long term it’ll be detrimental…same with the job you love, if it doesn’t give you the financial security you need, then there’s the possibility of stressing yourself out financially and that’ll outweigh the love for the job. Hopefully there can be a happy medium between the two, or one is just a means to an end.
Great videos Graham I am addicted to these videos because they give me knowledge..
+Uttkarsh Choudhary I’m so glad you enjoy them!
The chase is better than the catch.
+Fake Name 💯
Awesome 👏🏻
Excellent stuff! Love your self awareness and humility!
+Brian Grieco Thanks so much for the support! Glad you enjoy it!
Awesome video man, reminds me of this quote “If you look to others for fulfillment,
you will never truly be fulfilled.
If your happiness depends on money, you will never be happy with yourself. Be content with what you have;
rejoice in the way things are.
When you realize there is nothing lacking, the whole world belongs to you.”
+MikeTheFeng That is AWESOME
You should do a rant on “digital nomad/ ebook guru/ I’m selling you my course for $997,$497,$97/ social media marketing”
Good vid btw bro
+Mellodread I’m definitely planning on it. I actually have Tai Lopez’s entire course and I’m going through it, I’ll give a full breakdown of it.
Appreciate it bro!
Just started watching you man. Your’re amazing great video.
+Nathan Ocampo Thanks so much dude!
Hey Graham! Finally subbed after a few weeks of passively watching. Your videos and comment responses are great. Always respectful and very well thought out. Awesome to see a local LA guy proving real estate is still a viable avenue. What do your clients typically do to be able to afford multi-million dollar homes? Do you see yourself purchasing a multi-million dollar home in the future? Do you see it happening through YouTube or by making bigger deals (or most likely through multiple avenues)? I know in LA most condos are half a million+ and any decent single-family starts at one million, but I always wondered how people afford houses at the $3-$5MM range.
+Kevin Lee Hey Kevin, glad to see someone else also from LA! Thank you for the support! As for who affords these homes…really anyone, there’s no one set demographic. Generally the clientele I work with is 19-35 years old and self made through tech, entertainment, or music. The clientele over 35 ranges from working professionals, stock traders, lawyers, doctors, and business owners. Very, very few are employees – almost all of them own their own businesses which seems to be the common theme between my clients. As for myself, I own one worth a little more than $1m and looking to buy another around the $750k-$900k range this year (then remodel it), but all of my money really comes from real estate sales. YouTube is just a fun hobby and from a financial perspective it’s a total waste of time, but I have a ton of fun doing it so it’s like a creative outlet from doing real estate all day. I might eventually buy something in the $2m+ range but it’ll come over a long term of consistently working as a realtor and reinvesting my money back in rental properties. I’m definitely not at that point yet, hopefully in the next 5-10 years!
100% true working on goals is what i care about – then getting that goal accomplished, of course, feels good but it fades quickly. As soon as my goal is done i feel happy then depressed… until i find a new goal 😉
No what you ask? Go to the track once a week and send it!!!
Nice video. Im a 19 year old Realtor from AZ. Got my license a week after my 18th birthday. I would love to talk to to sometime to just soak up some advice. I added you on snap.
Awesome video man, I agree(: keep it up!
I really associate this video with the J Cole song – Love Yourz. Listen to the lyrics in that track, It really does put things into perspective. Most importantly fuck materialistic things! Family, friends, your own happiness and to love yourself is the most important thing in life. Be grateful and humble whilst still aiming to best the best you can be personally and career wise. Also always look up to someone. Not to be jealous or envious, but for motivation and support/guidance. All it takes sometimes is that one person or one small or major thing to change your mentality/perspective on life. Love these video Graham
Very true this video! I purchase a nice car a few years back that I worked so hard for then about 3 months later I wanted the next model up I wasn’t happy no more haha. By the way are you filming with a go pro in vis? if no are you using the built in mic?
you totally hit the point on this one. I for one do not feel much different between the time that i’d graduated and being unemployed (mental satisfaction) and now. Truly, i think i was happier and had more freedom when I was broke. “We” try to patch it up with material things…but we all get sick of them after a while. For example, a raise from 20k-40k in salary will make one person very happy, but the same raise from 100k to 120k means nothing. Certainly, your baseline has been higher with living expenses/expectation. There is a diminishing return in happiness. The first ice cream makes you feel so good, the second one makes you feel slightly less satisfied, and by the time you hit the 5th one, you feel no different toward the same ice cream…perhaps now you’re at the burden of paying for extra toppings to relive that magical first ice cream experience.
Love the content. Have a few real estate questions for ya:
1.) Which contact mgmt system do you use? Also, which MLS?
2.) What software/app are you using to create your flyers/brochures? Do you try to fit all the content of a listing on one page?
Thank you i really need this
+Adrian Farhan Thank you for watching!
Its not about the destination. Its about the journey.
+dudeofstupidstuff truth!
This is the truth!
The reason I want money so badly Graham, is so that I can have financial security and I would love to help my parents in their retirement, they are close to retirement and have no money, and I want them to enjoy themselves when they relocate to their retirement home, by buying them the furntiure for their flat and giving back all the amazing things they gave to me as I was growing up.
I want them to enjoy their retirement and to be happy for as long as possible and not have to worry if they have enough money to eat, poverty is a horrible thing.
One major thing I noticed as I grew up were the sacrifices my parents made to give me a childhood/early adulthood, that I would never forget and it cost them a lot, I would love to extend the favour back to them while they are still around. I would trade money if I had it to keep them here and never have them pass away, because love means more to me than anything, that’s why we work really, to keep living and enjoying being with our loved ones in our down time. Just my $0.02.
That’s very commendable of you! That’s a great goal!
Hey, Graham. Thank you for this video. Please, do video on mortgage!
Yes! Will do!
Hi Stephen, I am getting my real estate license this summer, and want to work in the luxury/high-end Real Estate market. what do you feel is the best way to contact or approach a mentorship? should I go to open house that they are hosting and see if the would be interested in mentoring? what is your personal go at this? Thank you
Hey Kyera, thanks for watching. I like going to the open house method – pick 5-10 homes you want to see on a Sunday and just introduce yourself to the agents and ask questions. I wouldn’t just go up asking to be mentored, but chat with them a bit and see if something develops from there.
Thank you for your answer!
Man I just love ur channel coz u are so real with everything!! Keep going and achieve that goal of 100k!!
+Navman Nakhwa Thank you so much for all the support! See you at 100k 😉
Great advice
Thanks.
This really spoke to me, thanks Graham. Keep up the good hustle!
+Benjamin Hernandez Thank you so much dude, I’m glad it helped!
Absolutely! Be content with where you are, and always enjoy the process. By the way, your level of commitment to these videos and commenting is seriously impressive. Keep killing it, Graham!
It’s become a pretty fun hobby! Uploading consistently is hard, though – I make a few videos at a time when i have time, that way I can edit them whenever and space out the postings…but it’s work. Same with comments, although I don’t mind it since I can do a lot during my downtime, in traffic, etc.
Well you deserve every subscriber and every view that you get 🙂
I agree with you completely. When you start to appreciate everything you have, its a great feeling.
+fuk boi dollar it truly is!
grate topico and grate video

+Carlos Te Gracias 🙂
Happy Birthday man!!! You are a huge inspiration! Keep it up
+Distinct HD Thank you so much!! 🙏🏼
Such awesome motivation!
Dude this is so fucking true. You can’t place your happiness on materialistic things. It won’t get you anywhere.
+Forflies Vey true!
Hey Graham, could do a video on multifamily houses, because I would like to know how start of in the aspect of real estae.
Thank you
+Akhil Kanthamneni I’ll absolutely do that!
Amazing suggestion the reason why I’m subbed to graham now is because of that video!
hey Graham, this is the song I wanted to hear your opinion on snapchat. I’m not too big on rap but this song flies 🙂
Hey Kevin! I know you sent me a spotify link earlier, did you want to try to post it here? Or was the song in the video what you were referring to?
Good one. I could not find fault with it. I just want to add that it might be a good idea for most people to go back to that low baselines of happiness every once in a while by experiencing suffering or going to remind oneself to his roots. I’ve seen the popularity of the “cold shower” and that reminds an individual to suffering. Going to the gym or physical exertion also works. Travel while avoiding the luxury also works. I found travel to be cumbersome but and reminds us that life is difficult and there’s a lot of things to be grateful for.
Interesting ideas, I like it!
hey Stephan! just a short request, if you have time and it’s in your future plans, make some posts on Facebook too, or some shares from Insta or YT. Would be cool! Peace brother, keep on doing the great work that you do!
+Adi Budea You’re totally right about that. I’m rarely on Facebook and just started posting on my Instagram – I was never big on social media so now I’m trying to make an effort to stay consistent with it, Facebook is next up!
Thanks for the reply man! Following you from Romania, city Cluj-Napoca, heart of Transylvania literally 😀 I know it’s a bit late within a few days, but Happy Birthday man! Mine will be this Wednesday on the 26th of April 😀 Cheers mate!
Thank you so much and happy birthday to you as well!
good words. well filmed as well!
Before you become popular and before there are thousands of comments I wanted to ask you this. If you didn’t do real estate, what job would you be working? I assume you had passion for other things before you discovered real estate and so, why did you go with real estate and not your “dream job” that you wanted to do as a kid. Also, was it hard to do real estate at first? I watched all of your videos and you always say that it took you months to close out your first deal. Were you scared that you might never close a deal? Were you doubting yourself and maybe even thinking about quitting real estate and doing something else?
Oh yeah, is that your Rolls Royce or is it rented/something else? I see it quite a bit on your snapchat story.
this was a GOOD piece of RANT
and the LOTUS in the background just STIMULATING ME
im here talking to my self in my head like
“thats how my lotus is gunna sound when i zoom up and down the roads”

Thanks so much! I appreciate all the support!
I truly feel like you’re the realest guy out there right now
where the fuck you get these jackets from!??!
gary vaynerchuck is all about the process haha
+Billy The T-Rex Haha, Zara!
You lose that happy feeling because material things are just that. Material things.
Make sense. I love it. 👍🏼 thank you for this video
The arguments in this video are contradicting each other. You made the example that when you got the Lotus, you received fleeting happiness. However, your argument was, that the way towards that goal is what brings happiness. One can easily conclude (according to what you are implying), that before you had the lotus, you were not happy. I understand your argument and to a certain level I agree. I would say that challenges is what brings meaning to life. However the way you formed your arguments and according to the examples of your own life presented, one can only assume that you are arguing from a purely hypocritical point of view. I am not even using your other videos, which are supposed to make the challenge to acquire material things EASIER (again, contradicting your own arguments).
A more clarified explanation would be the concept of the hedonic treadmill – we all return to whatever our baseline is after a certain amount of time when the excitement of new experiences and “things” wear off. If my baseline happiness is a 5 on a scale of 1-10 beforehand, getting that Lotus could bring me to an 8…but it’s not as though my new baseline becomes an 8. It’s temporarily at an 8 and it slowly declines back to a 5 overt time. It’s also not to say a 5 is unhappy, but a 5 is whatever you make it. Realizing this, it’s possible to learn what keeps your baseline at a 5, for instance, because you understand that chasing these material dragons isn’t the answer. You can then focus your time on something that’ll be longer lasting – being appreciative, being content, living in the moment, and taking control of yourself without relying on something external to come to the rescue.
Agreed. However, that is not the message of your video or your entire channel for that matter.
+Faith Totally disagree but everyone has their own interpretation and perspective on things, that’s never been the message I’ve tried to get across.
If that is not what you want to get across then I hold your word for it. I respect you for listening to my opinion and engaging it, very honest of you 🙂
Wise words thank you
From my understanding, happiness requires a decent state of materialistic things. To me, without the money, I will have to work at a place I don’t like, I will working for the money. But what I really want to do is not working for money, instead work for happiness, the feeling of I achieved something. I can do whatever I want, and I don’t have to worry. I personally think finance freedom is a important part of achieving happiness.
I’ve watched 2 of your vids and can tell you’re one of the realest YouTubers out there. This is spot on, materialistic things bring temporary happiness but helping people, making other people happy brings authentic happiness.
Thanks so much for watching dude, i’m really glad you enjoy it!
True happiness,in my opinion is were you don’t want anything, what you already have everyday, that makes you happy. The second you want something is the second you are subconsciously telling your self” Without this I am incomplete”. Simply live your life as if you don’t want anything. Things that happen come along with the territory is a plus but, there is a big difference between a need and want. You just have to decide for yourself which is which.
Happiness vs Joy. There is a difference.
This is absolutely true. Accumulating wealth, items is like tapping sandwiches over your body when you’re hungry. It won’t work in the long run. But through financial security we may gain some way more important things – such as time and independence that we can use creatively.
I definitely agree!
Great video! I know this process of searching for happiness through things or goals as the hedonistic treadmill (you can google it). Happiness is almost entirely a mindset, not something that you get from external things/goals.
The hedonic treadmill is so true, it’s a very interesting subject!
awesome vid man. keep it up
do you think you could maintain that high if you bought an income property that put a check in your mailbox every month? lol i think so
+707c80 I don’t think so. Eventually you get so used to it where it doesn’t become “high” anymore. It just becomes normal.
A lot of Tony Robbins words
100% true
The journey is often better than the destination.
+Scott Keough totally true
the reason you crash on happiness is this: you are buying without any meaning behind it other than you can buy it. money serves a purpose it buys happiness in many ways. unfortunately people jump to materialistic fleeting aspects of using it. money buys you freedom to chase any endeavor you can think of, it buys you stability, it buys you food, it buys you vacations, it buys you memories, it buys you medical attention. but most humans would rather buy a nice car out of a humble price range or a giant chain, or some stupid fleeting item that serves no purpose other than saying “look what i bought”. people who grow successful lose the fight they had when they were grinding and become lazy. this is where stupid purchases with empty purpose comes into play. instead you should set another goal financially, or you should set a goal for your family (I.E college set up for your kids when they come of age, vacations planned for the next few years for your family, a car for your kids, and no i don’t mean a Bugatti, something humble so you can show them the meaning of hard work and chasing your dreams) TL;DR money is the most important thing to chase in life aside from family or personal dreams, what you do with it depends if you will end up happy or not.
Respiration 🙂
I have the same way of seeing things, this video changed my perception about you. Great video bro 🙂 keep it going.
Very wise
It’s human nature – we get acclimated to a new status quo, both better or worse conditions. Like probably many, I had a hard time understanding how rich people could be so unhappy… the joy from switching to a higher level of ‘success’ (e.g. gaining material goods) tends to wear off rather quickly.
+Remi Stardust Exactly! Once you can afford those things, they don’t bring you the same enjoyment and you have to seek fulfillment elsewhere.
The smaller things in life can bring contentment, e.g. that first cup of coffee in the morning, watching birds in the garden feeder, a bar of chocolate, a special song, a gripping novel or film, resting in the sun. Small things to look forward to and all inexpensive. 🙂
I love how real you are. Tai Lopez and Tanner Fox think money is literally happiness.
You are so smart and mature.
Yeah a lot of the time, I’ll spend a few months saving money for something, and then I buy it and I realize i don’t even want it anymore lol. It’s just the process of saving towards something that keeps me busy for a while.
I totally agree with that!
Hey what’s up?
I can relate a lot to this video it’s definitely something that’s always on mind those little material things that you buy and give you a high. Happiness is so much more or should be so much more. Thanks for another video!
Great thoughts, you’ll go far in life.
Thanks!! 🙂
“Things won are done; joy’s soul lies in the doing:” Shakespeare
Cant agree more, the build up and journey many times are better then the final result or product. Thank you Graham
If you want a more logical approach to this, you can look at it in terms of game theory.
In game theory every situation is a game.
Games can either be finite or infinite.
-Finite games are games where you play to win. This is how most people view life; as a winnable, finite game. Once they achieve their goal, they’ve won.
-Infinite games are games which the players play to perpetuate the game. Life is not a winnable game, thus it can be viewed as an infinite game with finite objectives.
You play life to perpetuate the game and achieve your goals. Playing to win at life will leave you disappointed if you don’t win, and lost if you do.
A rant about happiness? Wow, I’d hate to see you pissed off.
Well…this is where I would go on about why people need Jesus. Contentment is one of the greatest things in this world.
The Alchemist
I liked for that dog.
Great video too Graham 😉
Enjoy the process. We are happy when we are growing. Thank you for the video.
The more time passes, the more i realize this truth. Thank you!
this just made me more depressed
2:00 As well as knowledge and experience.
I thought this was a good video about Destination Addiction. What’s that? It’s the pre-occupation with the idea that happiness is in the next place, with the next job, or with the next partner, and until a person gives up the idea that happiness is somewhere else, it will never be where they are.
Nice ideas 😇
I have a Lotus Esprit S4 that is happiness that will never go away lol
It’s literally just like Tyson Fury when all his life he wanted to beat the heavyweight champion of the world because nobody could and then he achieved his goal and he spiraled in a wirl wind of depression to the worst point but then he bounced back so good on him! Hope you lot are coping well and your days going great Godbless!!
Great video comment and like #19
I’m surprised videos like this of graham’s never blew up. I love these.
Graham out here driving to the military base in gta
Great video ! This video deserves more views!
Its not about the destination but the journey to get there is what I think you are trying to say here and that is factual. Oh and the drug that you were talking ab is called dopamine lol.
This video deserves more views
Great video. Thank you.
