The Democratic Republic of Congo’s army says more than 3,000 people have responded to a call by President Felix Tshisekedi for volunteers to help fight another armed group, M23.
The armed group is widely believed to be supported by neighbouring Rwanda – a claim the government in Kigali denies.

@GAMBOfamily AFRICA No sir. It’s the very opposite. Rwanda would like nothing more than peace and stability in the congo. They’ve actually taken many opportunities to show their goodwill. Of course the Western media would never mention that. Yet there have been so many initiatives that it would be tedious to recount them all. Things like offering economic cooperation agreements, welcoming refugees not only from conflict but also from natural disasters, assistance for resettlement of Congolese returnees by helping them build new homes in the Congo, etc.
The title of this video says it’s about M23. Have you wondered why the Western media never says who the members of M23 are? Actual people and what they say their cause is? That media blackout is a manifestation of the Western will to maintain and feed the confusion, to foster more chaos and keep Africa down.

@GAMBOfamily AFRICA Ah! I have no doubt that someone did write things like that. But it’s misinformation. Ntaganda was associated with M23 very briefly over 10 years ago in the beginning. But he was quickly expelled by the M23 leadership. He tried to resist his expulsion and actual fighting broke out between him and the movement’s current leaders. He was promptly defeated so he fled to a US embassy to ask them to take him to court in Holland. Obviously he figured being in the hands of an international court might be less painful than falling into the hands of congo rulers. So he opted for what he felt would the lesser of the evils he faced. The embassy naturally obliged so he’s been in jail ever since.
The M23 does not control the mineral rich areas. That’s just a facile cliché whipped out by junk media with no basis. The fighters are in Bunagana, Rutchuru, Kiwanja, Rumangabo. No one will be able to show you any supposed mineral riches produced in those places. The movement gets most of its equipment from the congo army itself. They either buy them or capture them as even the congo government has openly acknowledged time and again. In fact many congo military officers are in prison right now for flat-out selling government weapons to the very rebels they’re supposed to be fighting. This is because whether in the military or elsewhere, a lot of congo officials are in it to grab the most money they can for themselves.
If you wish to know why those people are fighting, you really don’t even need to look beyond the comment sections right here. You’ll find congo agitators aggressively denying the citizenship of rwandophone people in the congo. And it’s not _“just words”_ on the internet. Those people get systematically ray ped, muyrder red, and plundered in ways that match the barbaric rhetoric you see here. But targeted people eventually reach their limit and fight back. That’s what’s happening.
