BBC Arabic radio goes off air after 85 years

The United Kingdom’s publicly-funded broadcaster, the BBC, is slashing hundreds of posts in its World Service.
That means its radio broadcasts in ten languages are ending.
The corporation says it has been forced to make the cuts because the government has imposed a freeze on the licence-fee money it gets.
