You’ would have learned that Israel controls the flow of goods in and out of Gaza because Gazans don’t control their own borders. Israel does. So, because Palestinians cannot collect tax income from imports to Gaza themselves, according to a treaty from 1994, Israel is responsible for collecting those taxes and transferring it to the PA every month. Moreover, Gaza is internationally recognized as an occupied territory with Israel as the occupier. According to international law set in response to the atrocities of WW2 and the atrocities committed by various countries with colonial holdings during the anti-colonial uprisings in the second half of the 20th century, the occupier (this being Israel) is responsible for the well-being of the people they are occupying. The representative for the League of the Arab Nations gave a very good legal argument for how Israel is in violation of international humanitarian law. The Chinese delegate then argued that, while Israel makes a lot of noise about its sense of security, the Palestinian people living under occupation in Gaza have a legal right to resist occupation through force of arms. These are legal arguments, not using shocking stories or graphic images to elicit an emotional response, though if you want to see Israelis desecrating the dead you can go onto the IDF run telegram channel or just click through the footnotes in the 86 page document that South Africa presented.
Resistance movements are never pretty, and there is no glory to be had in war. Even in places that can be considered a battlefield, Israel must still comply with the standards of war it’s signatory to (though it’s not signatory to the Geneva conventions which is… certainly a choice if you’re trying to market your army as the most moral army in the region) and must comply with the genocide conventions that it has been signatory to since its founding.
