EVERYONE: wearing a mask does not prevent u from getting the virus. It just prevents the victim from spreading it out. You only need to wear it if you’re sick. Also, in order to fight the virus, your immune system needs to be healthy and strong. That’s why people with pre existing health issues are more prone to this virus. Eating vitamin C’s everyday and eating healthy food and fruit (such as zinc, it actually helps) will make your immune system stronger. Also, make sure to wash your hands thoroughly many times a day, and try to not touch your face.

Don’t tell people that wearing a charcoal activated mask won’t help prevent the body from contracting the virus. It will help and is prudent. Obviously there is much more to it, but it does reduce the risk. Disposable gloves and hand washing /sanitizer use and ample distance from others in crowded areas is also imperative.

Calm down people. The WHO is mostly worried about third world nations that don’t have the infrastructure to implement proper quarantines and health care to their citizens. So we must ALL stop the virus from spreading so it doesn’t balloon into third world nations that CAN’T contain it.

I am in southern China and in my city [Nanning] most people have been wearing masks but some are not, maybe because the chemists have sold out very quickly. It is very quiet in the neighbourhood and feels a bit like a science fiction movie. My fridge is almost empty and the online supermarkets have dramatically increased their prices, eg: a litre of orange juice has increased from 9 RMB [about 90p] to 50 RMB [5 Pounds] and other food products have increased as well. However to be fair the government are really doing a great job to contain the virus by extending the public holiday and lockingdown some cities. We have been told to wait until 8th February before the peak of the virus has passed. The start of the school term has also be postponed until further notice.

They can even replicate sunlight down here. I pray that there is never a state of the emergency in response to a nuclear strike, etc. However, if there is, Mount Weather located in the Shenandoah Valley in the Blue Ridge Mountains is your best bet for survival. Just know that getting in wont be easy as this place is heavily guarded. The best way for you to garner access for your family and for you is to contribute something amazing and productive and useful to mankind. Only the smartest and best minds will be given guaranteed access.
And here in my country the mask price is 6x higher now. Can’t even afford that and my country is developed country with a lot of people. They even quarantined the people who back from the Wuhan in a small island in the middle of the sea.

China and the WHO have done absolutely AMAZING job of responding SWIFTLY and TRANSPARENTLY, always being SUPPORTIVE of local doctors and NEVER arresting them or forcing them to sign bogus confessions. They definitely DO have our best interests at heart, and are NOT motivated by bribery, lies and propaganda. In sum, there is NOTHING to worry about.

forecasts are useless because we have no idea the true infection rate in China…. inability to test + many people don’t test/self-quarantine + many people never develop symptoms beyond mild so never report it. moreover, much of the spread was pre-quarantine pre-awareness. if you applied the Wuhan mortality rates to US, annualized per capita, it would be nearly half a million dead (flu is about 60K a year). but if you apply post-quarantine rates in Beijing, it would be much less severe than the flu. moreover, we have no idea the true mortality rate because we don’t know how many reports go unreported …. TBH we won’t truly know until COVID is in an entirely post-quarantine post-awareness sample with very proactive rates of testing — e.g. Korea or Japan maybe.

The fact that we know it spreads easily is enough. Knowing that, while knowing how long the incubation period can be, and how long people have the disease for… It’s clear this virus will spread far and wide. Self quarantining also isn’t an option. Our society is built on everyone doing their job. People can’t just stay at home. My predictions are that this is going to get bad, but the best and only thing you can really do is stock up on some food and hope for the best. You won’t be able to avoid getting the disease if it hits your country and takes hold there. You still have to go to work and take care of your responsibilities. The only thing you can avoid is food shortages.
