WHO calls emergency meeting to discuss jump in mpox cases from DRC

A surge in the number of cases of mpox in Africa is alarming health chiefs.
The infectious disease has been detected in 10 countries on the continent – including the Democratic Republic of Congo, which has the most cases.
The World Health Organization has called an emergency meeting to determine if the outbreak constitutes a global emergency.
