Thousands of people in Kenya have been forced to abandon their homes after a drastic rise in the levels of the lakes along the Rift Valley. Homes, schools, hospitals and roads are under water. A magnitude 6.5 earthquake has struck the central Philippines, killing one person and injuring dozens more. A family in Masbate Province were left trapped when their house collapsed.
