Armenia, Azerbaijan agree ceasefire in Nagorno-Karabakh

Armenia and Azerbaijan have agreed to a ceasefire and plan to start “substantive” talks over Nagorno-Karabakh, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said on Saturday, after nearly two weeks of fierce fighting in the disputed territory. Saudi-UAE coalition warplane shot down in Yemen

The Saudi-UAE-led coalition has confirmed that one of its warplanes has crashed in Yemen’s northern al-Jawf province. Houthi rebels say its forces shot down the Royal Saudi Air Force plane on Friday. Houthi media is also reporting that at least 40 civilians were killed in coalition air strikes in the region’s al-Masloub district. Chad declares emergency in east after ethnic killings

President Idriss Deby has declared a state of emergency in two eastern provinces after dozens of people were killed in intercommunal clashes earlier this month. The state of emergency will run for three months in Sila and Ouaddai regions where 50 people have died since August 9 in fighting between cattle herders and settled farmers, the president’s office said on Sunday.
