Global supply crisis: Shipping delays for Chinese-made goods

The COVID-19 pandemic has caused logistical headaches for global shippers thanks to raised transport costs, quarantine measures and extra paperwork. China’s zero-tolerance approach to the coronavirus has not helped: in May it closed one of its busiest ports because of a COVID-19 outbreak. Western sanctions on China over Xinjiang trigger furious response

Beijing district in ‘wartime mode’ amid fresh coronavirus cases

A district in the Chinese capital Beijing is on high alert after dozens of people there tested positive for the coronavirus – the first after two months of no infections in the city.
