Tigrayans flee to Sudan, leave families behind in Ethiopia

Many of the families fleeing the fighting in Ethiopia’s northern Tigray region have been separated after making for neighbouring Sudan. More than 40,000 people have sought refuge there after the conflict between the federal government and the Tigray People’s Liberation Front started in early November. Many are desperately searching for news of their loved ones back home but have been unable to because of the Ethiopian government’s communications blackout in the Tigray region. Nagorno-Karabakh agreement: Azeris celebrate after peace deal

Armenia, Azerbaijan and Russia have signed an agreement to end six weeks of fierce fighting in Nagorno-Karabakh. Under the agreement, Russian peacekeepers are being deployed along the front line in Nagorno-Karabakh and the corridor between the region and Armenia. Nagorno-Karabakh: Armenia, Azerbaijan ceasefire comes into effect

A ceasefire agreed by Armenia and Azerbaijan has come into effect at noon local time (08:00 GMT) to end nearly two weeks of heavy fighting over the disputed Nagorno-Karabakh region. It follows two weeks of intense fighting over the disputed region of Nagorno-Karabakh. The deal was announced by Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov after talks in Moscow. Egypt protests: Thousands demonstrate for sixth straight day

Israeli gets life in prison for murdering Palestinian family

An Israeli court handed a Jewish settler three life sentences on Monday for murdering a Palestinian toddler and his parents in an arson attack on their home in the occupied West Bank. Amiram Ben-Uliel, 25, was sentenced by the Lod court following his conviction in May for the 2015 killings. He was also found guilty of two counts each of attempted murder and arson, along with conspiracy to commit a hate crime. The arson attack killed 18-month-old Ali Dawabsheh. His mother, Riham, and father, Saad, later died of their wounds. Search for survivor continues under Beirut building rubble
