The Philippines is counting the cost of Typhoon Rai, which killed at least 12 people and left a trail of destruction.
Winds blowing at 195kmph (121 miles/hour) downed power lines and destroyed homes, forcing hundreds of thousands to seek safety.

Many dead? It is only 12 unlike. Typhoon Washi (Sendong) which is weaker than Typhoon Rai killed more than a thousand and a thousand more missing. You exaggerated too much Al Jazeera on the title unlike other typhoon title reports but RIP to those families.
Almost same route with yolanda yet those areas never learned? Just look at Bicol region, they have learned their lesson. Always prepared for thypoon.

195 mph winds reported & damage nothing like the tornadoes in USA where they reported 150 mph! I believe USA measurement is wrong!
As of latest count, there are already 12 confirmed deaths and 7 people still missing from Typhoon Odette (Rai) in the Philippines! International weather stations said Typhoon Odette had maximum sustained winds of 230 kph. Typhoon Odette intensified as it approached the Philippines and was later categorized as a supertyphoon! I wonder how does Typhoon Odette’s wind intensity compared to the recent tornadoes that hit the US?!
So sad news.

Irresponsible reporting. Im from the Philippines and I find this Filipino reporter not doing her job. She could not even mention
how many people died numerically. People may think that it’s in the hundreds but actually just 8 in the latest update from the Philippine media. Japan’s building incidents has more deaths than this typhoon. And she really had to make it too sensational by poorly analyziing the long term effects of this typhoon when Filipinos are already expecting this year after year. Aljazeera, please replace this idiot reporter. There are lot more who can better do this job in the Philippines.
