The leader of a coalition of Haitian gangs is asking the US to help him overthrow the government of Prime Minister Ariel Henry.
The head of the G9 gang Jimmy “Barbecue” Cherizier said he wanted Haiti’s elite gone.
He had previously said he would ensure the safe passage of fuel trucks gangs had blocked if Henry was removed.
Gangs in Haiti have become more politically assertive since the assassination of President Jovenel Moise in July which has plunged the country into further lawlessness.

@dethkon We always hear this some what valid claim now days against the media. So who is to be trusted with the truth and the actual reporting of it? The masses have always been handicapped in garnering the genuine truth of any matter. People have to trust somebody’s interpretation which is determined by how the presenting source perceives the matter at hand to be yes? So if one does not reside in China how would you know the most intricate details of what the Chinese are doing? One could apply that train of thought to the very part of any town they may reside. Question still begs an answer as to whom one asks or seeks the truth from if not the media.

Personally I think that academic papers probably hold the most weight when it comes to unbiased facts, and maybe reports by certain Think Tanks/NGOs (although it starts to get muddled at this level by outside interests). But if one can get the raw data, you can interpret your own opinion about what the meaning is.
Unfortunately, gaining access to these papers is difficult and can be ridiculously expensive unless you’re a University student or the paper has been released publicly. It also takes a lot of reading, and one has to know how to read them (which can be difficult depending on the subject). Also, it’s important to check who, if anyone, funded or commissioned the research in the first place.
What I do is to read books that people in the field write, or use Wikipedia, but in both cases check the sources to make sure they are accurate and as unbiased as possible. Otherwise I just trust my own experiences.
It’s painstaking sometimes, but it’s apparently what we have to do now to find truth in a society where people can just write and say whatever they want. That’s why I mostly don’t speak on China, I haven’t done enough research to make any strong claims about it (Although I know some things).
