Tens of thousands of people are currently at the mercy of an exceptional monsoon season, which has wreaked havoc across Pakistan. Hundreds of people have died and many more have been forced from their homes.

The notorious episode of “buying”the loyalties of Balochistan High Court Judges for the ouster of CJ sajjad Ali Shah .Justice Malik Qayyum taking directions from Shabaz S regarding the quantum of sentence to be awarded to Benazir . DG NAB bluntly owning up before the Apex Court , that it was he who had nixed the proposal of an appeal in the Hudabia Paper Mill , money laundering case . The dismissal of the appeal ,when launched , in that case by justice Qazi Faez Isa , in complete disregard of the powerful evidence based on Ishaque Dar’s confessional statement ,supported by wads and wads of documents including Bank A/C numbers , facsimiles of the cheques and statements of the affected parties . Fast forward to the present times ,and the “partisan” attitude of the CEC is more than obvious in a series of his adverse and hostile rulings against Khan and PTI . But it doesn’t ends here .There are ominous signs that N League’s magic is again at work, this time to secure a composition of the Apex Court
favourable to it’s stance , and against Khan and his party . Thanks to the presence on the SJC ,of their “endowed”people like President of the Bar Council and others , the Superior Judiciary is likely to take a propitious turn in their favour , while those who can do something about it are silently watching on .

Same thing everywhere. This would be so easy as to make the proper infrastructure to deal with weather events. Extremely easy:
Make roads etc elevated so it doesn’t turn into a river
Build houses as to withstand torrential rain but allow watter/ mud to pass
Redesign land as to have enough rain watter capture and have crops that thrive in these conditions (this is possible to the point of creating lakes where nature thrives and provides extra wealth)
Have 1 event center in each x klm of possible afted areas that can turn into shelter etc
This easy and no, its not that expensive.

When they award contracts for infrastructure projects, some of the money end up in back pockets. A lot of the time the project is never completed. The prime ministers brother is living in a mansion in London and his family generally keep their money in offshore accounts. They don’t care.

this literally all comes down to bad water management, lack of draining canals, dams, etc. this water alone is enough to fulfill all of pakistan water needs for a whole decade but sadly will all be wasted.. it could have been used to irrigate the deserts of balochistan too

A lot refuse to work and live in shacks and when the floods are hit, the Government said that their the people that expect others to come in and give them everything for nothing. I heard one Government official say, the only way to help the poor is don’t become one yourself. They call them bludges, looses to the country and want them to move to Afghanistan. There is so much hill side where they can live, cave networks that go for miles and miles but they choose to live in the flood plains where a lot grow poppies for drugs to be sold off to China that is then made into heroin and offloaded in the street of America.
