West African leaders are due to meet in Ghana’s capital as the region sees an increase in attacks by armed groups.
Leaders of the ECOWAS bloc are also expected to review sanctions imposed on a number of countries under military rule.
Another concern for West African leaders as their economies struggle, is the rise of protests against inflation and shortages. Analysts expect more demonstrations like the ones recently seen in Ghana, sparked by the rising cost of living. And they say, there is little regional leaders can do to stop this from happening.

West Africa should have some of the best countries in Africa if you look at the potential of countries especially like ghana, ivory Coast and Nigeria them 3 countries should be looking like Europe now but bad leadership as let all 3 of them down and west Africa in general it seems like corruption and Africa is a inseparable marriage at this point because how many times have Africans been crying about corruption but it still exist even when we start to approach mid 2020’s I keep praying to God to rid Africa of this cancer. I have always said corruption is th only thing that holding Africa back.
