Niger’s coup leader has proposed a three-year transition to civilian rule after meeting a delegation of West African leaders and warned that any attack on the country would “not be a walk in the park” for those involved.
General Abdourahmane Tchiani, speaking on national television late on Saturday, gave no details on the planned transition of power, saying only that the principles for the move would be decided within 30 days at a dialogue to be hosted by the ruling military council.
The junta is continuing to rally support in the capital and has called for a mass mobilisation in the face of threats of military action by ECOWAS.

The ECOWAS should embrace the military of Niger as they want to accept democracy back again to Niger because it was what the ECOWAS needs. The military didn’t kill any person before taking power. it was a peaceful and perfect operation. But ECOWAS should forget the former president because the old things have gone away and the new things have arrived. Who will be next Democratic president of Niger doesn’t concern ECOWAS and France again provided he is the choice of the majority people of Niger. Niger is a country of sovereignty and no other country can interfere or tell them what to do.
