In Guinea, three people have been killed in confrontations with police and protesters – on the second anniversary of the military coup there.
That is according to opposition groups. Meanwhile, the transitional president, Colonel Mamady Doumbouya, failed to turn up at a military government-sanctioned concert in the capital.
Al Jazeera’s Bernard Smith reports from the capital, Conakry.

FRANCE, UK, USA AND WESTERN MEDIA GO HOME!!
There’s some people in Guinea really sick.
They keep sending people children for protege and they have their kids in Europe, uk, America and Australia.
I think everyone like peaceful manifestation but in the violence way basically that against the law.
Lol, Coupist don’t do that(transition to democracy). By God’s grace the Nigeria Judiciary gets it proper today on the judgment of the Presidential Tribunal.
The coupist need time to undue the damage done from independent,Dumbaya is delaying his reformed that’s the only problem I’ve with him, Dumbaya must kick France out and take back the Guinea Conakry resources back to the people, without doing this ,the Civilians government can easily be control by France and multinational companies.
Civilians government in Africa cannot stand the new world order the world system that has already been rigged against africa, Nigeria can only be liberated by revolution or the military but not democracy.
@Watching the Hawks Yes yes, 730 days can’t possibly be enough, let’s double it./s
You really think your military government can’t be compromised?
If there’s something the Nigeria coups of yams and years ago taught me, it’s that people who organise coup have no intention of actually leaving or transitioning. If the people of Guinea don’t take action and apply more pressure now, there would be an unending cycle of counter-coups for many years.
@Mk is democracy Africa?why are you so obsessed and emotional about democracy? think for your self don’t allow Europe and America manipulation to get to you,if democracy is working why Nigerian democracy took over from Abacha the military government but fail? Abacha died Nigeria is well secured without insecurity and stable economy but d soon as civilians took over the whole thing fall apart, they claim they’re the expert professional and technocrat but they’re working for Anglo-Saxons against their own black people of Nigeria.
@Watching the Hawks The nerve to use Abacha as a case study. Do you know how many Nigerians died during their reign, talkless of the countless that lived in fear because of that tyrant. Why would you desperately want to be ruled like an animal without even a semblance of you having a say in what is good or not good for you. No matter how bad Nigeria democracy situation currently is still better than the dark ages of the dictators. Our democracy and institutions despite lacking are still young and this trials are just a stepping stone to greater things. If all come to worse, our country will just divide among ethnic lines and continue practicing democracy but the Nigeria people are not so blind anymore to allow one man to indefinitely have absolute control ever again, God forbid.
@Mk Abacha is better than this democracy in Nigeria!
To be honest, Youtube needs a coup.. West needs a coup.. They should..
@ 1:48 😮
I wish the West has Coup, so they can STOP with the STUPID DEMOCRACY ! ! ! You don’t need Democracy, you need WISDOM ! ! Technically, it already has become.. U may call Democracy, but who is the King in Canada ??
A hand me down from who knows where…..for all tomorrow’s parties
Doumboya is working for who? France or guineans?
Dumbaya he’s making a big mistake by not fastrack his reform programs,to succeed Dumbaya has to decolonize the military, education and cancel all military agreements with France but it seems Dumbaya not doing this ,we all know the longer he takes to reform the injustice done to Genuine Conakry the weaker he becomes at the long run.
No he is a USA plant
@Watching the Hawks his plan is going well. It is exactly what he intended. What is your problem?
@Watching the Hawkshis married to a white french woman(macron spy)
He’s been the most quiet compared to Mali or Burkina Faso
Frame 1:12 “… they don’t believe when the government say it is committed to a democratic transition.”
Duh!!! Fôôls 🤬🤡🐖🐵 asking a military that took over power by force to be “committed” to a “democratic” and “constitutional” transition? Is there any wonder why Africa is finding it difficult to extricate themselves from bondage?
Some are ready to sell the future of the country for an icecream.
Why Africa must practice democracy?why should democracy be force on Africa?
@Watching the Hawks I’ll answer u with a question? Who made u the inquisitor? Lastly, infering things from people’s coment who aren’t there is for the weak.
Why must africa practice communism and dictatorship? Why force dictatorship on us?
@Watching the Hawks but he doesnt even say he respects those countries ? So you blame him for respecing Saudi, China, Qatar and such without him even saying a single word that he respects those countries ? He used Eritrea as a example but you claim he ‘hates’ it. There is no such wording here only the words you are trying to put in his mouth.
Exactly
Democrazy is western product
Let Africa do their old long tradition
Law of the jungle
Survival of the fittest
If you love social unrest, you eschew democracy.
The current president is an asset of France
This was expected. All coup plotters changes characters to be rulers
Not in Portugal during junta of national salvation.
@Denis Koka But most of them.Isalute Portugal 🇵🇹 coup plotters
😂😂 .will be same in burkina, mali, niger, gabon.
i pray for unity, the Cause and foundations of the coup nd killings is Italy and France Paris, America Napolitano,Napoli,Taranto,Torino, sardinia,Rome:;;;,,,*
No surprise there unfortunately, in the next few years the same story will be repeated in Burkina, Mali, Gabon etc. These army guys will try to follow the Thailand/Myanmar model but with more brutality and less development.
Strange… this is what Africans want right ? So why the protests ? Have fun bois, no help from the west as requested. No more doctors without borders.
Survival of the fittest
African way
Law of The Jungle
All those coup are led by russian thieves
Democracy is not meant for Africa
When the honeymoon is over with coups, this is what usually happens with coup led countries.
But this can’t be. Coups are supposed to be a good thing. The people are 100% behind them. Right? Right?
1:51 he didn’t have any space in his diary lolll
Well this is what happens when military takeover is applauded. The citizens ends up suffering again.
