Aid organisations are warning of an unfolding crisis on West Africa’s Atlantic coast, with a record number of migrants trying to make it to Europe.
Last weekend, more than 2,600 migrants arrived on the shores of Spain’s Canary Islands.

Very dangerous journey
People will do what they need to do.
African Governments need to wake up
No. Europeans need to wake up.
@@GuntherL1 Wake up and give back what they stole for centuries from African Nations
@@fj1914 you can’t steal what is still there.
By militarizing the borders and setting up checkpoints nothing will happen, the African and other governments should eradicate poverty, illiteracy, unemployment which will stop them to think about this path otherwise militarizing won’t solve the problem
It isn’t easy to solve poverty. City’s in Europe still have massive slums.
Yeah, and they pay that hospitality by beheading innocent people of Europe.
just like the way european colonizers did to millions around the world, from americas to africa to oceania, yeah they abused natives hospitality, to compare current scenario to what they did is like comparing death with a sleep.
@@davismate6999 same can be said about the Ottoman empire and the Muslim conquest of India. Why only single out Europeans? At least they allowed refugees in their countries, but the hospitality was paid by beheading of innocent people over a stupid cartoon.
In case you don’t know. It’s a HUGE very lucrative business, it will never stop. Never. It’s human nature.
Europe is far from the utopia they dream of.
African govts are the main ones to blame for these migrations, they have no shame when they spend collosal amounts of money on their salaries, allowances, unnecessary trips with a large entourage abroad, expensive govt vehicles etc, alot of the policies they enact are also a copy and past style from those in developed nations, these new policies and laws often have no real practical use or cant be applied in a place with poor internet/ cellular coverage, poor roads, no proper medical facilities, zero to no proper water supply and sewer services, redtape of the kind that often takes long periods to get a single signature from a govt office. Yet the “donors” know these are the problem areas and continue to fund African nations without addressing the core issues and then they the donors come back to poke criticism at these African govts for the missing opportunity to develop which they had with all those donated funds, the donors knew very well who they were dealing with from the start, why give all that money to a government that has a track record of corruption and failure unless you want them to continue failing??? A lack of efficient service provision and red tape is also a cause of corruption.
Where were the authorities when that boy didnt go to school? And now they want to arrest his father? Typical hypocrisy of African govts and you in the media are also to blame for failing to highlight this and many other root causes mentioned above.
Another racist hypocrit that doesn’t knows his own history but is teached to only hate and blame others the world is not candy you snowflake
@@bernard8793 lets debate this then.
I know more about Africa and the development challenges than you will ever pretend to know in your life.
Which countries do most of the migrants come from? Which countries in Europe host most of them, what prevention measures are the African nations employing to stop this migration, what prevention measures are African nations employing to prevent loss of life at the sea often within waters near their coastlines, how much out of their budgets go into illegal migration prevention, what local media campaigns are in place in these countries to discourage this deadly journey and in which countries, what practical steps are being taken to prevent this migration right from the bus stations where the trans Sahara journey begins?
In essence you trivialise the loss of now probably hundreds of thousands of lives since this started as far back as the 70s with nothing but an unsubstantiated comment typical of a mind that has no detailed understanding of the subject matter.
Do you even understand the context for the common use of the word snowflake? Under pressure you get angry, you fail to debate in a logical manner, you have close to zero knowledge of the subject matter that you are talking about and then you melt, these are clearly your characteristics, so guess who is the snowflake here? You sir.
We should question the length of the deportation process. Prompt deportation would turn off one of the magnets drawing people to Europe.
If every single migrant was deproted none will follow in the foolish procedure.
True.
America has to do more to help.
how about QATAR ?
This is all on the door of hilary Clinton
My favourite game is Who sunk my battleship
Stop the crossings with the navy, African nations just letting this happen and watching their people get exploited and killed.
African nations have an incentive in these people leaving their villages to come to Europe,it brings remittances and gets rid of unemployed young people.
There is a solution to this crises. Stop having so many children. Overpopulation is the problem.
well the problem is Africa allow polygyny which lack regulatory mechanism when thing start to get over populated.
Hello, I’m
‘ Marcelo Pear and I’m from Rio Brazil. Let me testify before the public about a great herbal medicine doctor name dr wise of africa who helped me with my own illness. I had HIV / AIDS for over 5 years and I was almost going to the end of my life because of the appearance of my skin. All I have in my head is to give up because life does not interest me anymore. One night, my sister told me she had found a doctor on the internet who could cure HIV / AIDS. It did not interest me because I did not believe it. She helped me with everything the doctor asked for, filled out the treatment form for me and even used her own money to get the medicine for me. During a week of using the drug, I started to get stronger, my blood began to flow normally 4 to 7 days later, I started to gain weight, before the 2rd week, my body started to develop, my skin began to grow. After a month, I was tested for HIV and tested negative. I am so happy to be able to say that I am no longer a patient with HIV / AIDS. If you have HIV / AIDS, hepatitis, herpes or HPV, coronary heart disease or any other illness, please contact Dr. WISE. His phone +2349063191711 and his Whatsapp number is: +2349063191711. I wish you good luck, God bless you all. You can also phone +2349063191711
We show them humanity, and they show us terrorisation.
Every country wants remittances
Afrikaner sind in Europa nicht erwünscht sie werden auch kein Asyl bekommen
they already spend a lots of money for this trip. to go back is an embarrassment to their community. they need money to repay their debts they owe for this trip
THIS WILL NEVER STOP UNTIL EUROPE GET THERE ACT TOGETHER SIMPLE JACKIE
